I really hope MS is not that stupid to push Scorpio as next-gen. Because if PS4Pro is "half-assed upgrade", Scorpio positioned as a next-gen is just plain terrible upgrade.

It doesn't have the hardware to be a "Next gen console".
Microsoft will get ripped apart in various gaming circles if they take that marketing angle.

Yeah, but our "gaming circles" are the minority.

I have no issues with Scorpio being a next gen console. I just brought a XB1S and more power to me if Scorpio is a 9th gen console. Means better visual games. Those that cant afford it.. oh well move on. Gaming is an optional hobbie in your life. Many cant afford a $2000 gaming rig either which is already a 9th+ gen PC. Ill buy a Scorpio because i can afford one and that 4 years with any console is enough for me.

Question is why would people want gaming to slowdown. Why not push the boundaries of gaming? Bring us power, being us games.

This is what people don't understand on forums. It amazes me.

But add up all the gaming circles. Then you start counting in Millions of gamers/enthusiasts.

Those who understand technology are generally those who help make purchasing decisions for friends and family, so that is the flow-on effect.

Basically, don't underestimate a minority, all those minorities is what helped push the Playstation 4 forward, Sony made all the right decisions at the right time, the gaming circles grabbed it and ran with it, the rest is history.

It's the power of "Word of mouth". It has made some businesses a success and even made some business's go bankrupt.

Weird how people in the console spheare are so obsessed with names and categories.

There is a new iPhone and a new iPad every year. The same as every other Android flagship model. In less than 4 years your phone tablet are almost unusable. None gets offended.

The base XOne will probably be supported almost as long as the 360. People won´t lose their games library or their mind.

There is no reason for drama and speculation.

Nah, this guy is clearly just a MS fanboy. Bashes Sony for doing the exact same thing MS is doing. If the article from DF is accurate, this is quite a ways away from next gen and would get blown out of the water once the PS5 launches. I don't think MS wants to embarrass themselves like that, again. The only thing I could see MS really doing different is possibly pushing it more as a Windows platform.
