It actually means USA people will pay for it, twice, because they will pay for the actual building of the wall, and now for overpriced goods.

Mexico loses as well, but they can sell their goods for other countries instead of letting USA try to rule them.

Hmm, you realize that the proposed tariff or import taxes on Mexican goods (based off last year's exports alone) would pay for the estimated cost of two walls across the entire border? Estimated costs are $15-25 billion and the proposed tax is 22% with $236 billion exported into the US in 2015.

And those "expensive" alternatives are either from the US or from other Central and South American countries. When one of your largest trade partners has a fairly substantive trade deficit in their favor, it's not uncommon for politicians to try to balance it out. When you have the leverage in trade situations, you don't concede. :-/

Edit: Ofc, we could truly hard-nosed and eliminate all foreign aid to Mexico and use that to pay for it. The United States gave away $419m in foreign aid to Mexico in 2013.

Just think it would mean economic disaster for everybody involved. And really, one thing I really don`t understand about people complaining about illegal immigrants is: why not complain about people that hire immigrants than about the immigrants themselves? And what people think would happen if there are no illegal immigrant inside the USA? Best, and I mean, very best scenario is those low paying jobs illegal immigrants now do will be given to Native USAns at some extent or they will simply stop existing. If an American mid-class family now pays a maid let`s say 1000 USD so she works in their houses everyday I don`t believe the same family will pay 2000 USD or more to have an american maid.

OK, first of all I was a Bernie supporter and would have voted for him over Trump. However compared to Hillary or any other elitist option I'm taking trump. At least he's getting things done. We, the people, got trump elected. Had the establishment not screwed us "usa people" by screwing Bernie, you wouldnt have trump. So no, the people are going to keep trump because the garbage that is the alternative.

What Hillary have to do with what you said? (btw I don't give a single shit for Hillary, would have voted for neither if I was a US resident)

And as soon as people start realising that Trump's attitude will only backfire, because Mexico, or even less the World, will not bow to him, then they'll want him out, because if the president is doing such a disservice for its country (ecomomy, internal relationships, image, trade deals, etc), then people should take action to stop it, as they have the power to do so.

It also helps that the majority of the voters actually didn't want him there in the first place, Trump is not gonna last if he keeps doing shit after shit.

Actually Trump is delivering on his campaign promises. This is what he was elected for.
