Yeah they will, Trump will tax them to hell or simply take remittances that Mexican Americans send back to family in Mexico. And as Mexico is a third world country, if they try to retalliate we can absolutely obliterate their economy anbd cause the kind of damage that will be 10 times worse than whatever damage they can deal to us in a trade war.

I'll start by saying I don't like posting politics topics here, but that has to be shared and I didn't see it here yet.

Today the ridiculous claim he would build a wall over Mexico and make they pay for it was actually taken seriously by him and was officially signed.

Right after the President of Mexico lamented the act, and obviously said Mexico wouldn't pay for such thing.

Then Trump went on Twitter to tell him that if he doesn't plan to pay for it, that he should cancel a meeting both had on USA later this month, and that was exactly what happened, Mexico's President just cancelled it.

It's like the world's most powerful country is being ran by a spoiled brat that has a serious superiority complex because was born rich, what the actual fuck is even happening to USA, how the fuck will other countries take internacional relationships seriously with USA like that?

We all know USA is powerful, and is involved with a shit ton of important things with other countries, but if that's how it's going to be from now on, countries should and probably will start shiftting deals between themselves more often and directing more money between themselves and less through USA, which is a lose-lose for it. Hopefully if things start really getting out of hand USA people will take action and take power off his hands before real shit hits the fan on a worldwide scale.

And now all goods made in Mexico will be slapped with huge tarriffs and import taxes (this means that Mexico will pay for it). The Mexican President will either step down from his posturing (as he's very unpopular in Mexico) or fall on his sword on this.

Actually this means that the americans will pay for it because the tarrifs and import taxes will be passed down onto the buyers.

Of course, it'll mean higher prices, which means that people won't be buying as many goods made in Mexico. Considering the majority of goods imported, there are multiple alternatives. It's a case of Mexico needs the US far more than the US needs Mexico.

And if people are not buying products there will be no money from taxes, which still means the americans will be financing the wall.

Of course you can do more damage to Mexico is you enter a trade war. That being a smart choice is what is questionable, and I'm not even taking about good/bad or moral choices. If Trump wants USA to do better, having Mexico as a good trading partner is better than to make a trade war with them.

And you can call Mexico a third world country all you want, but fact is that they are one of the most important trading partners you have and so, they are  more than relevant to your economy

It actually means USA people will pay for it, twice, because they will pay for the actual building of the wall, and now for overpriced goods.
People there will buy less stuff from Mexico, so it'll also hurt people that choose not to pay for it and will have to find more expensive alternatives.

USA only loses with that.
Mexico loses as well, but they can sell their goods for other countries instead of letting USA try to rule them.
