Do we know if this is a main story quest?

The animation seems to be as it was at E3 (looking at Alloy's animation), which wasn't great but I can deal with that given the game is an open world RPG, I wouldn't expect it to be on a par with something like Uncharted providing there is a lot of optional dialogue, voiced NPCs. It is a tad jarring given how good looking the game is though.

I muted the video as soon as they started talking, to avoid spoilers not for any other reason, so I can't speak for the quality of the voices/acting, however it could be explained by it being a side quest as you tend to get varying degrees of quality in these sorts of games.

I may have to bite the bullet and watch it, although I'm buying the game regardless so I probably wont.

Game play wise the game looks fantastic, can't wait.

I was hoping though with the Witcher 3 that future games would not skimp on Side Quest quality. Witcher 3 has side quests that are more interestiong, better acted, cutscened, ect than most games main stories.

Then I played ff15 and not only did that games side quests not move forward all, but I woudl argue that it too 10 steps backwards. I haven't played a game with such tacked on pointless fetch quests in a long time.

Hoping the rumored Breath of the Wilds 70 some side quests are somewhat decent.

The only hope I have in regards to the voice acting/script is that the best actors, writing and storylines are saved for the main quest, and the secondary, optional stuff is of shitty quality.

That's what I'm hoping for but the dialogue ... on boy, the dialogue. It doesn't matter how good the acting is or how good the motion capture is, if this is a taster of the quality of the dialogue, it's ALL going to be terrible.

I watched the story trailer again, and the voice acting at least seemed better there, if not massively so

Also, Endgadget said this in their video apparently:

The characters so far are super rich, they're really complex and they feel like real people, which is hard to do in two hours with a game; tthey had that down within the first 10 minutes.

which gives me a bit of hope

1 out of 30. totally expected this game to be a disaster. GG are absolutely horrible developers. the worst. the game should have never been made. sad.

Bah, I never trust previews. Previews are basically paid advertising these days. Rarely ever does a game get anything bad said about it in a preview. It's all praise and then the review comes out and the same guy praising the game in teh preview now bashes the game from start to finish.

Have you played all of GG's games? I only played Killzone on PS2 and absolutely loved it.

I liked everything else though! I'm going to enjoy actually 'playing' the game. Did anyone else notice how there was an option to turn things she needed to collect into a quest?

The PS5 Exists.

yup, i actually liked that part.

would be even better if that option only becomes available to you when you do the longneck area scan thing in any new area. Should explain how she knows where to go looking for certain enemies or plants.
