Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Swedish retailer claims their Nintendo Switch pre-orders have surpassed the PS4.

I didn't expect that, very honestly. Isn't Sweden like very Playstation-oriented? Could the tide be turned red?

Just for some interesting figures to gather a broader European context on the Switch.

Nintendo Switch on the main retailers in Poland:

Media Markt: Nintendo Switch -

Niestety, nie udało nam się zlokalizować wyszukiwanego produktu.: nintendo switch.

(product term doesn't even exist)

Saturn: Nintendo Switch

(same as Media Markt)

RTV-

Komputronik-

SUCCESS:

Shipping from 02-03-2017
The product in pre-order, the goods will be sent to you immediately after delivery.

"It has already been sold 8 pieces."

Oh, but wait...

"There are still 245 pieces."

So yeah... huge demand here :)

The economy is strong in Sweden so it is a good environment for console sales. Webhallen are quite big as well so these are good signs :).

One retailer in one country.

We also know that Gamespot sold out of their 500K pre-orders pretty quickly in North-America.

This thread is about surpassing PS4 preorders.

So in other words the Switch will be more popular than the PS4?

For one retailer in Sweden, it might!

Isn't it mostly in the UK where people are indifferent towards Nintendo consoles?

Sweden is a Playstation country. Most of Europe is really. France likes Nintendo a lot though, compared to most other European countries.

That might be true, BUT all of europe still loves Nintendos handhelds. All of them were huge over here. Granted, maybe not as big as in Japan or US but big enough to be a household name.

I keep saying this, but a lot of people are seeing the Switch for what it is, a hybrid. That means there is a Nintendo Handheld in there to get excited about. It should do hybrid numbers accordingly.

That's because Swedish people might lack a chromosome. I should know this, I'm Norwegian.

Here's a more thorough translation the OP can use if he wants.

Nintendo - The Comeback Kid

We're only into the month January but 2017 seems to be Nintendo's year. We can already see that the Nintendo Switch has more preorders and better rate than the PS4 release! The initial shipment is already booked, but we recommend that you stand in line for this sought after console, to assure allocation among the shipments that arrive days and weeks after launch.

thanks for that...

so, pretty much just marketing speach to entice consumers to adhere to the 'new' product with no real numbers. got it :)

I think better rate means that compared day to day the switch is ahead of ps4. Hell the switch could sell all its 2 million day one it doesn't matter since its long run that's important. Where the switch will be in march 2018 is what's relevant since even the U sold 3mil in two months

Just a guy who doesn't want to be bored. Also

One retailer guys. I'm sure there was a retailer or two that had more Wii U preorders than Wii or XBox 360 ones.

One of the biggest retailers in Sweden.
