the only thing monstrous is that girl's acting

as long as the movie is better than Ep. VII, I don't give a shit about the title.

I guess this will end in bed with an old luke deing. Because... why try new stuff when you can just copy?

Just grab the Rogue one team and have them work on the SW films. Enough with the blatant retelling of the originals. Give us new and exciting stories.

Just a reminder that Star Wars borrowed liberally from The Hidden Fortress, Flash Gordon, and The Dam Busters.

The Star Wars prequels, which told "original stories," cribbed many of the themes, tropes, and visuals of the original trilogy. There's a scene on Grievous' ship that looks a lot like the Emperor's throne room in Return of the Jedi. Attack of the Clones calls back to Empire Strikes Back early and often, in addition to movies like Blade Runner and American Graffiti. Remember that Lucas' vision for the prequels was for them to "rhyme" with the original trilogy.

While I agree TFA recycles many of the beats of ANH, it still manages to tell a story with a sense of style, humor, and joy -- something sorely lacking in Rogue One. TFA also has interesting, relatable characters that have clear motivation and change throughout the movie. In Rogue One we have a bunch of gray, boring, forgettable characters and a story that is only interesting in how it relates to a much more engaging story we already know.

Joker loses in the Dark Knight.

Harvey Dent was Jokers end-game, to corrupt the "White Knight" of Gotham. He succeeded. Sure Batman minimized the damage of that by taking the blame for Harvey's murders, but in doing so also hung up his cape.

Joker knew he was going to be caught at the end of Dark Knight, by the end he was simply a distraction so Harvey could prove his point, that anyone can fall to chaos and insanity, even Gotham's "Shining Example", Harvey Dent.

It's not a clear cut victory for either, but Joker didn't really lose.

He succeeded in corrupting Dent, but not Batman. DK recycled the old trope of corrupting the hero and, in Batman's case, making him kill. The mercy he extends Joker at the end is indicative of the Joker's failure. The point is made more clear by the Joker's ferry plan failing, much to his dismay, as that represents the Joker's inability to corrupt the common man.

Whatever is lacking in Rogue one, we can do without... bar lightsabers.

Sorry, it just means i disagree. :)

Besides there was joy and humor on Rogue one. I even have a T-shirt of him. K2SO for droid president!

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

According to Disney, Mara Jade doesn't exist... like a right kick in the balls that one.

Hmm, pie.

Not exactly the most creative of names, but it makes sense, this movie is said to have a heavy focus on Luke.

But... how will Rey not be overshawdowed?!?!?!....
