I wouldn't be so sure about that, they only brought the old characters back to draw in the crowds, now they've kicked things off they're going to retire them. They started with Han, Luke and Leia are next. The old characters were only their to get things started, this trilogy isn't about them. Luke's gonna peg it.

Chewbacca will live on though.
