Why no Smash info in the Switch reveal?

So, the big January reveal has come and gone. But no news about Smash Bros. for the Nintendo Switch? WTF.

Some players in the competitive Smash scene are wondering what is going on.

Other rumors are suggesting two Smash games are coming to the Switch.

So why did Nintendo not say anything about Smash Bros. for Switch? Are they doing something unexpected or are they just slow making the port.

What do you think is going on? And as always lets try and be civil and not turn this thread into a Melee is better than Smash 4 flame war.

Just play the WiiU version...

It will come eventually, I would think 2017. Keep in mind they have by no means announced all there titles for 2017. Though Sakurai has been over worked when making this game so expect minimal changes if it does come this year, he really must feel sick and tired with smash and wants to work on other projects.

saving announcements for E3 is my guess

Don't worry, it will come. No reason to release all the WiiU ports in the same year, specially the big ones.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

I'm a bit concerned, to be honest.

I don't know if they're doing a Smash 4 remaster or a proper Smash 5, I guess I'd be fine either way.

What worries me is how the controller support is going to be like. From what I've seen, the Switch is incompatible with absolutely every controller Nintendo's ever had - I did expect this to be the case, and personally I'm emotionally ready to switch (not intended) to the new Pro Controller as much as it looks worse than the Wii U one. However, I am concerned for all the people who play Smash on the GameCube controller - what options are they going to have? Is there going to be a new, more expensive GameCube adapter for the Switch since it's incompatible with the already existing one?

All of this just bothers me so much. It's honestly stupid how Nintendo is getting rid of all hardware backwards compatibility just to force people to waste money on new controllers.

They need to just make people play it with the current controllers. The Switch Pro Controller is similar enough to the GC one anyway.

It's not there. Sakurai is trolling you. He will personally release a Smash 4 port in 2030, with Alm and Celica added, and with them being the rough equivalents of Fox and Falco in Melee.

I WON A BET AGAINST AZUREN! WOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Its not that I'm worried. I sold my Wii U and 3DS and I'm jonesing to play it again.

Definitely concerned about controllers on Switch. I tried using the Wii U Pro on Sm4sh and ended up getting a GameCube controller instead. The Switch Pro controller does have offset sticks like the GC controller has, so it might be better. But I won't know until I do smash attacks with it.
