Forums - Nintendo Discussion - What they're doing with Breath of the Wild should've did the same with Skyward Sword

This probably the last nail in the coffin I'll go at it with this topic.

Sooo we all know Wii was heavily used with motion controls. Yes Zelda! Motion controls? ugh!.. Yes Mario Kart! motion controls? ugh!... Metroid yes! motion controls ugh?... Super Smash Bros yes! no motion controls? yes! no proper controller for smash bros? ugh! ...  Motion controls, motion controls, motion controls! Motion controls here, motion controls there. It' was always about motion controls... and thats why I didn't own a wii until 2010. And it was gift for christmas, so I didn't exactly ask for it. The only game I truly LOVED on the Wii was New Super Mario Bros. Wii. That game WASN'T based on motion controls at all, the only motion about it was to shake the Wiimote and that was it. But remember, I didn't play many Wii games because I disliked motion controls.

And we know motion controls are back... sorta. With the Switch's gimmick they leave it out of Breath of the Wild. BOTW is just a normal game with a normal controller, with no motion controls or touchscreen anything. They should've did the same with Skyward Sword. I said it once and I'll say it again. If Skyward Sword was motion control free, it would've been better than Ocarina of Time. Story wise, Skyward Sword is the best when it comes to story. Did you see the ending? it's so strong. If there was a Skyward Sword HD remake without motion controls, it's automatically better than Ocarina of Time in my opinion.

But I'm GLAD Nintendo isn't forcing their gimmicks on their games anymore. I'm glad Breath of the Wild is a normal game and it gives it a head start from Skyward Sword on being the better game. Skyward Sword should've NEVER been involved with motion controls. Look at the criticizm it gets. I truly hope Nintendo will release Skyward Sword HD down the Switch's lifecycle without motion controls so they can save the game from getting hate.

Do you think I'm the only person who dislike motion controls? Just google "Skyward Sword motion controls" you'll see a TON of people complaining about it.

I'm sorry that this looks like a rant but it's really not. I say this because it's my humble opinion. Your opinion may be different than mine and there's people who also may agree with me. Thanks for reading!

Around the Network

Why do all of your threads start with something along the lines of "I swaer this is the last thread I open" ? It's clear it won't be, so why bother ?

Motion controls were great in SS. I may replay it before BotW.

Predictions for Nintendo NX and Mobile

The only things wrong with Skyward Sword were the slow, unskippable text boxes (WHY?!?!), and the boring flying. Motion control was awesome.

well I loved motion controls on skyward sword. And enemys where based around motion controls. You had to attack them in certain directions, blocks ad all that. It wont be the same game, I say it would be dull without the motion controls.

It takes genuine talent to see greatness in yourself despite your absence of genuine talent.
