Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Switch DQ Heroes Double Pack Detailed

http://nintendoeverything.com/square-enix-explains-how-dragon-quest-heroes-i-ii-is-more-than-just-a-port/

Dragon Quest Heroes I-II will be at the launch of Switch in Japan. Two games are included in the package, which in itself is a pretty good deal. On top of that though, Square Enix is introducing new content and making improvements. The company shared more details during the Nintendo Switch Experience 2017 last week.

First, HD Rumble is being implemented. You will feel vibration from the Joy-Con when slashing enemies, and it differs for each monster. If you slash a Slime for example, it gives off something like a jelly feeling, and if you slash a Golem, a rough / hard vibration will be felt. Also, while you are slashing a bunch of enemies, you’ll be able to notice that a Metal Slime is hidden somewhere in the crowd.

While it may not look quite as visually striking as the PS4 edition, the difficulty level and game balance has been adjusted for the Switch release of Dragon Quest Heroes. Improved elements introduced for Dragon Quest Heroes II will now be applied to the first game. More details will be announced during a live stream just before the release.

Regarding content specifically, Square Enix is including Ragnar McRyan from Dragon Quest IV as a new character. Malroth from Dragon Quest II is also appearing as a boss.

On another Dragon Quest-related note, Square Enix says Dragon Quest XI’s development is progressing smoothly on Switch. However, details are currently a secret.

Square Enix is actually one of the best third party supporters of the Switch right now, lol.

They're releasing Dragon Quest Heroes I & II as a pack-in with added content, instead of trying to sell them seperatly. They're also releasing Dragon Quest X and Dragon Quest XI. And they're bringing a promising new IP with Project Octopath Traveler. I am Setsuna and Spelunker World are apparently also published by Square.

As of right now they're the best supporter of the Switch as a 3rd party quite easily I would say.

Capcom and Level 5 even don't seem to be giving much of a fuck.

I'm sold.

With this being a launch title, I highly doubt they're going to improve the performance by the time of release in Japan. However if they can get it running at 60fps through a patch by the time the game launches here, I'll definitely get this version.

Hopefully they come later. It would be great if the Switch could get Resident Evil 7, but it absolutely needs Monster Hunter. Although they will probably support the 3Ds for 2017 and only then will they start releasing games for the Switch like Monster Hunter and Yo-kai Watch. Not sure about the latter though, as it was built around the two screens of the 3DS and there are already signs of franchise fatigue. A Monster Hunter Stories remaster would have also been nice.

I did. Which makes that paragraph in general garbage.

The first sentence required the second sentence which required the third one - which added nothing. Which in turn means the entire paragraph added nothing.

Which in turn is what made me bring up the point in the first place.

"Lesser enemies or the enemy distribution may be different. Maybe another difficulty mode?" is a good answer. You dull condescending attitude of "read, oh and read this" etc is not a good answer.

Basil's answer is nothing more than a guess. My answer is that your question will be fully addressed by Square-Enix at a later date. But I can provide an answer like Basil too.

The difficulty for the first game was increased because Nintendo gamers are better gamers in general.

Bolded part is gold :) Well done... Well done!

Because no one would buy them separately. Just plain business sense, especially since they most likely don't expect strong sales.

Yeah, and what's the business sense in selling Ultra Street Fighter II for $40 or 1-2 Switch for $50-60 (not sure which)?

I never said Capcom or Nintendo had business sense. What's your point?

Square Enix isn't exactly known for their bright  decisions either.

Wonder what the US release will be.

I have no clue what that means. Because it looks worse, it was made easier(or harder) and it needed to be balanced?

What is the connecting thought there?

It's pretty straightforward.  It's contrasting a part of the game that's better on the PS4 version to a part that's better on the Switch.

While it does not have desirable feature X, it does have desireable feature Y.
