Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Total number of sidequests for BOTW revealed by Piggyback's official guide and it's good news.

76 sidequests! Surely this beats major's mask and by some margin. They also mentioned there are 120 shrines and 900 korok puzzles.

It seems that ninteendo took critisism about the dearth of sidesquests in Skyward sword to heart and are making amends by going overboard on sidequests this time around.

According to IGNs list MM has 68 sidequests. So yeah, BotW has more, but not by as many as I would have thought. Though of course the number of side quests alone doesn't say anything about how long or how good they are.

Bet with Adamblaziken:

I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.

Hopefully it's not just fetch quests and monster slaying... I mean there should be a few of them but not overwhelming. I really can't wait for this game!!!

to me the number of side quests isnt as important as the quality of the side quests. the best example of side quests done right is The Witcher 3, deep and interesting side quests, with memorable characters and back ground stories. sure, some are great, some arent as. but thats how things go.

a side quests should be interesting. doesnt have to be long. for example the stranger side quests in Red Dead Redemption. there werent many, but they were interesting, some really interesting. and they made the world feel alive.

Farcry Primal as a SHIT TON of side quests, but they all lack depth and context. do this, do that and its done. and even though im a huge farcry fan, the side quests in primal got boring after a while, despite the gameplay being really solid.

in short, its not just about quantity, its about quality.

This is BIG, especially given how good the sidequests are in Zelda games, I wonder how much time I'll spend in this game (goodbye life :'c  ).

It's to be noted that, while we don't know how many dungeons there are in the game, we already know of 9 Boss battles solely by the trailers so it's likely there are 10+ of them

Wow! That is looking nice! I'll probably mess around and see and test everything in that grassy place before doing any quest XD

Pocky Lover Boy!

Like the sound of that amount of side-quests and shrines, but 900+ puzzles sounds repetitive as fuck. Hope they don't have too much good loot hidden away in those

As long as they aren't fetch quests or kill x number of monsters then that will be good

Please have story sidequests!

A huge number of sidequests is meaningless. Just look at FFXV or Xenoblade.

“Simple minds have always confused great honesty with great rudeness.” - Sherlock Holmes, Elementary (2013).

FFXV has about a bajillion, often too similar quests, so hopefully they took the criticism of XV into consideration lol.
