Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Switch Launch Feels Like a "Soft Launch"

Initially I felt similar to the OP, however after looking at the launch titles and what is coming within just two months, it is actually a very solid launch.

I think Nintendo wanted to focus completely on gaming, the OS and functionality fits that just fine. It will have online functionality from day one, just the final version with its special app won't exist for a bit (I think based on what has been said). I also am sure that OS, VC and other digital functionality will be know ahead of launch. Nintendo just likes to drag it out to keep continual media buzz.

Fixed. Not sure what it failed first time.

I think It was the right decision to not wait any more.

Agreed. The wait had gone on too long already, they couldn't sit on a dead console and a declining handheld forever.

This way at least they have 8 months or so to try to build up momentum for the holiday season, and if the system stumbles they can cut the price in time for the Christmas rush.

Its not fair and not accurate this comparison , real bias.

Putting Arms and TW101 on thé same level ? Lol really ?

And so many WiiU ports on Switch side

Although its not fair to count Xenoblade 2 which didnt release yet and could bé delayed ( especially in thé west, i can easily bet that it will bé delayed) and on thé other sidd not count thé WiiU games announced for thé first year and got delayed, its liké people never learn.

Really not an objective comparison, well compare thé number of exclusives on Switch After its first year against WiiU first year, something tells me itll advantage WiiU

Predictions for end of 2014 HW sales:

 PS4: 17m   XB1: 10m    WiiU: 10m   Vita: 10m

i mostly agree. I don't consider this things true "launch" until mario is out. This thing is going to be sold out everywhere for holiday. Gettem now before the scalpers do! lol smh.

Only 2-3M units ready for launch?

That's a lot! The guys who posted that should do some research and see how many units the PS4 and XBO had ready for their respective launch.

Still in its twilight years and passed its prime though.
