http://kotaku.com/nintendo-answers-and-avoids-our-switch-questions-1791402953

Things of concern:

How if at all does the Switch connect to Wii U and 3DS owners’ existing accounts?

We have nothing to announce at this time.

Will the Switch be compatible with existing Virtual Console purchases?

We have nothing to announce at this time.

Will the Switch have its own library of Virtual Console games that starts from scratch, or will it bring over the Virtual Console library from 3DS and Wii U?

We have nothing to announce at this time.

How will SNES online functionality work? Which games will it support?

We have nothing to announce at this time.

Is there a trophy or achievements system?

We have nothing to announce at this time.

Will Switch support Netflix, Amazon, Hulu, HBO Go, or any other streaming services?

All of our efforts have gone toward making the Nintendo Switch system an amazing dedicated video game platform, so it will not support any video-streaming services at launch. However, support for video-streaming services is being considered for a future update.

How much time did they spent developing this thing?

If they would've have nothing to offer in this regard, the answer would look like Netflix and stuff. But they say they have nothing to announce. This more says to me they keep features regarding Online/Virtual Console and so on under covers to reveal at a later point.

One thing to take away from this interchange; Nintendo isn't afraid to give the bad news upfront but keeps good news in a secret compartment.

I have the feeling they have heard the criticism of what's been shown of their subscription system and they are scrambling to get something better ASAP, and that's why they're being vague about it. At least I hope so.

I have nothing to announce after this.

There are definitly a lot of things that don't shine a very bright light on this device. It will be interesting to see how sales do after the inital wave of Nintendo Forever fans get their unit. I could definitly see this being Nintendos last platform. At this point I just don't think they can compete at home, and unless they make a phone, I don't ever see a handheld selling as well as 3DS again. People are going to be happy enough with iOS and Android games.

It keeps looking more and more like it is time for Nintendo to go 3rd party.

Stop hate, let others live the life they were given. Everyone has their problems, and no one should have to feel ashamed for the way they were born. Be proud of who you are, encourage others to be proud of themselves. Learn, research, absorb everything around you. Nothing is meaningless, a purpose is placed on everything no matter how you perceive it. Discover how to love, and share that love with everything that you encounter. Help make existence a beautiful thing.

These are basic housekeeping things for a console. Imagine if Microsoft is unwilling to say whether your Xbox Live account will transfer over from the Xbox 360. They're not special features, they're suppose to be the norm and it is disappointing that Nintendo can't even keep up with the basics. For instance, how do you lose the ability to stream Netflix in the evolution from the Wii U to the Switch? Things are suppose to progress, not regress.

That's completely wrong.

Their original announcement was that they will detail their upcoming online services at a later date. The answers to Kotaku are in line with that. Nintendo isn't going to make their announcement through Kotaku.

Let me dream, dammit!
