Forums - Sony Discussion - PS4: : The Lost Legacy ‘Tonally Different’ To Uncharted 4

Speaking to the Official PlayStation Magazine UK, creative director Shaun Escayg stated: “It [will] be tonally different, but in the same context of the Uncharted world.

“India’s got really nice iconography: hidden temples and weird deities we can play off of, so it’s a perfect setting for Uncharted: The Lost Legacy.”

On Gameplay:

Game director Kurt Margenau added that the core gameplay will also be a bit of a departure from Uncharted 4, stating: “I would say we’re going a little more wide this time. I don’t want to give too much away, but it’s something we’re excited about on the gameplay side, this kind of contrast of an urban setting and a rural setting; a tighter experience and more open experience."

Escayg also explained why the title is being released as a standalone story expansion rather than simply a piece of downloadable content for Uncharted 4: “It started as DLC, but we couldn’t find… well, we needed a longer time for the story to develop, and now I would say it’s a story expansion. That’s how we’re terming it.”

On Relationship and Animation:

Naughty Dog has commented on the relationship between the protagonists in the upcoming Uncharted 4 story expansion, The Lost Legacy, while confirming that it has recaptured “a lot” of animations for the title.

Speaking to the Official PlayStation Magazine UK, game director Kurt Margenau said: “The idea of the chemistry of Nadine and Chloe together, it gets the gears turning and it’s exciting to think about the prospects of where that relationship could go.”

The developer added that it wanted Lost Legacy heroine Chloe to have her “own personality”, distinct from series protagonist Nathan Drake, and that it had rethought and “recaptured” a lot of animations as well as her fighting style, which includes all-different melee moves.

The PS5 Exists.

Uncharted 4's battle gameplay sequences were all very fun. The game was mostly criticized for its small doses of it (while the first 3 games were criticized for the opposite xD). Although I didn't have any problem will it all. The fact that they included an "encounter" selection, alongside the regular chapter selection was enough for me. I could replay all the encounters and try to ge through it diffently, using different strategies.

But if they make Lost Legacy more action oriented than Uncharted 4, with the polish that was found in Uncharted 4's encounters, you can sure count I'm in.

I can't wait!

I'm interested to see what other mechanics ,aside from the lockpick in the E3 presentation, are added to Lost Legacy.

I'm very excited for this. I also expect it to be a good 4 or so hours long based on what they've been saying.

Bet with Adamblaziken:

I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.

Of course it's tonally different. They have women voice actors now. I'm expecting a slightly higher pitch than Nathan.

I've just finished uncharted 4 yesterday and loved it's ending, incredible - that and the witcher 3 has really shown how to end a game and hopefully this dlc will be as good as witcher 3's.

First day purchase for me cos I loved Chloe, cant wait.

Not sure if I need more Uncharted in my life. Might check it out.

I will buy it anyway Naughty Dog is pretty much the equivalent of pure gold in the industry. If they make it even darker and more twisted I am all in for it. I loved how the demo was presented in India.

Please excuse my (probally) poor grammar
