Nope also this was known for along time.

It makes sense too, you want to be able to use it as a console and then remove it, and keep playing your game.

That cant happend if your HDD is hooked up to the dock, and the game is on the HDD.

*if* they allow external hard drives, they might not allow you to play games off of it.

You would just need to select which titles you can take on the go and which you can play at home with the dock.
A simple data management app can do it.

Yes lets complicate the entire concept of the console, and have people need to tick off box's that ll allow games to be "on the go" as well, depending on where they installed them.

Consumers are smart... I mean I cant imagine some idoits out there messing up something so simple, and then going on rants on the internet about how the hybrid concept of the switch doesnt really work ect ect.  /s

Honestly its easier for nintendo to just draw a line in the sand, and go this isnt what we intended for our product.

32 gb really doesn't bother me. My biggest thing is about the paid online. I already pay for PSN, yet i use my PS3 most. It would be two wasted subscriptions. Console for the most part seems ok to me.

That's why 32GB+SD should be enough for the Switch, it was enough for the WiiU.

32GB of internal memory? Seriously?
The smartphones running their matchmaking and voice chat will have more space than that lol

that's why said apps were moved on said smartphones :v

Good news for the multitude of accounts, I'm kinda sad that updates for the games can't be written on the cartridges ...

Aren't some (the cheaper) microSD cards really slow? Is there a minimum speed class supported? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Secure_Digital#Speeds

If not, people out there might be buying the 12.5mb/sec cards for their console, for price reasons. Game load times will be enormous, and can affect even the viability of open world games and multiplayer games.

Digital is no-go. I don't think third-parties will like the lack of patching support and DLC. It could be in third-parties interest to kill support for this console early on, so they can go back to their space-consuming ways. The modern AAA consumes hundreds of gb by the end of its life (latest CoD has a required space of 120gb).

If no microSDXC card is used, everything is stored in internal NAND memory. If a microSDXC card is used, game save data is stored in internal NAND memory while data that can be redownloaded, such as digital games, game updates, and DLC, is stored on the microSDXC card. Nintendo Switch game cards are non-writable; game save data is stored in internal NAND memory.

So will game save data be bound to the device? Will we be able to transfer them to another Switch-model? Or can they be uploaded to Nintendo and then downloaded on a new device? Will Nintendo offer auto-uploads (with or without subscription)?

So many questions!

what the game cart can't save now that is retarded.

FYI, almost all home console (and vita) save in their internal memory

No. Vita and PSP save their data on the memory cards, which can be put in a different device when the old one gets damage.

Yeah, that's true. I wonder if I'll even play some of those big games, if they even make to the console, since I'm not really a fan of them to begin with.

Same here. I like cartoony shit and most AAA stuff don't come off as such.

In the three years ps4 and x1 have been out, only Overwatch and Doom 2016 have drawn my attention... Other than that, this gen's been pretty uninteresting.

Just my two cents.

Yeah, I feel about the same way, except the games I am interested on the PS4 are ones like Gravity Daze 2, and a few other JRPGs, haha.

Speak of the devil, Gravity Daze/Rush 2 is another game that actually really interests me! Haha!

Don't have a ps4 though :|

would it though? if you suddenly making millions of these thing surely the cost go down. Not saying they wll be cheap as ROM but surely cheap enough.

Millions of NAND chips are already made.  Billions nearly.

Ok well i googled the price.

From what I can tell it is $3 a chip for 64gb and $4 for 128gb. Is that really such a high expence or Nintendo?

Part of the reason alot of console gamers have gone to PC is because consoles have become a nusance to backup. No lnger the easy plug and play devce a they used to be.

If Nintendo allowed DLC, patches and save file on their carts, it would change that hassel and even allow yo to easily put that game in another console. It would win people over.
