People seem more than happy to pay for Mario and that gameplay is nearly as old as gaming itself.

The Switch hasn't done anything to me,  in case you hadn't noticed im not slightly interested in buying a switch this is more about being responsible.

less content? Pretty sure I read it has 50 levels or something like that?

It's just Konami, maybe Nintendo, taking advantage of the sparse launch lineup because they know people will buy it.
And honestly, these days, the reasons games are so expensive is because of Single player campaigns and mainly, graphics. This game definitely should be like $30.

So it is $50/$60 then? At that price there's no way I'm buying it before Mario, Zelda, Splatoon, Xenoblade etc. Thankfully it's a third party game so it should soon fall to a better price. I'll get it when I can buy it for $20.

is it the actual price for Bomberman? or Amazon/retailers just put the default $60 or $50?

if you can't afford it, then don't buy it. and wait for a price drop... easy.
