Forums - Nintendo Discussion - People complaining about Bombermans price...

Why?

Games are more expensive to make now than ever before.  Bomberman games have released for more in the past!  It's kind of getting ridiculous everyone moaning about the games price, developers are going out of business and its because they aren't making enough money! Yeah sure I know it's Konami but still.

In general we are actually paying too little for video games. For example 20 years ago i paid $120 NZD for FFIX at launch,  today I paid $79 NZD for FFXV at launch.... I don't know what $120 NZD is worth today but im going to guess around $180. I'm not saying we should be paying prices like that but games cost 3 times the price to make today and the prices at retail haven't gone up enough to make up for those costs. So quit complaining and buy the damn game xD

Itll be crazy to compare the price of making bomberman with the making of the phantom pain, or uncharted 4, or TLoU.

I dont think theyll need motion capture, or hire actors for bomberman... So yeah, for me its madness, but in the end, its only my opinion.

If you want to complain, then complain about this.
https://www.amazon.com/Puyo-Tetris-Switch/dp/B01MT8L7BX/ref=sr_1_51?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1484858485&sr=1-51&keywords=nintendo%2Bswitch&th=1

PS4 version = $30
Switch version = $40

Why is switch version $10 more? Same launch dates and content (afaik).

Because nintendo is passing on the cost of the cartridge onto them?

I doubt that otherwise other games would be more than the typical $60. May just be a SEGA thing hitting the launch excitement.

Some 1$ smartphone apps provide better graphics and gameplay, so people have a right to complain. Bomberman should have been a free to play title with microtransactions.

You haven't played it so how could you possibly compare gameplay. It is the type of game that it is. As for graphics, I think it looked very nice for the type of game it is. Its not like this is an uber-realistic story driven game. This is classic style strategy game. Looks increadibly fun and a good return for the series.

Complaining about people complaining.

My 2 cents, 20 years ago games cost less to make but industry was very small, now it's much bigger, so making more money with a smaller price per unit is quite possible. On the other hand, games get a discount much sooner now a days, so if you don't like the launch price just wait a bit and the low sales numbers will bring the price down even faster and buy then...

Yes, because Bomberman has the production values of AAA games. BS!

Made a bet with LipeJJ and HylianYoshi that the XB1 will reach 30 million before Wii U reaches 15 million. Loser has to get avatar picked by winner for 6 months (or if I lose, either 6 months avatar control for both Lipe and Hylian, or my patrick avatar comes back forever).

Well, if any industry AAA game is worth 50(insert your currency) I can't see why Bomberman wasn't. I mean, it's likely more value for your money than, say, the latest Final Fantasy.

So only AAA are worth $60? or Bomberman used to be AAA but now it's not? Remember this franchise used to sell for $60.

Im more annoyed by the Street Fighter + accessory prices

Actually, yes. Indie games shouldn't be $60, unless we're talking about some big exceptions to the norm.
