Please excuse my (probally) poor grammar

Final Fantasy - Since the beginning it has been unique and every iteration is a new game. When one final fantasy flops a bit, the next one has the potential to still be great.

Zelda - Mostly the old school zelda games. Not a huge fan of the newer ones, since N64 era. But the concept is always one that could make a great game if Nintendo finds the means. Zelda:BotW seems like it has that potential.

Dark Souls - Hard and rewarding. Fresh air in the dank deep sea of piss easy games that constantly hold your hand and give you awards for mere participation.

Elder Scrolls - Fantasy open worlds with every new iteration better than the previous. Tons of micro and macro content.

Fallout - Post Nuclear Apocalypse open worlds with every new iteration better than the previous. Tons of micro and macro content.

Metroid - Mostly the old school metroid. Again the 3D era of this series has been pretty poor, too much 1st person shooter and less explore/find powerups/kill bosses gameplay. I don't hold much hope this series will be resurrected, but I am still happy enough with the old content to play those games over and over again.

A warrior keeps death on the mind from the moment of their first breath to the moment of their last.

God of War

Legend of Zelda hands down. This is a no brainer for me!

Can you give as any idea what you're going to do with the data? I'm fine if it's a surprise, but I'd really like to know a bit more if possible. Is the data going somewhere? Are the results going to be anonymized? Anything else important?

Final Fantasy
-Huge diversity of gameplay styles, no one game is the same as the others in regards to gameplay mechanics, aspects, UI, etc. Music is fantastic, story for the most part even with spinoffs is great - on a lot of different platforms in different types of genres such as RPG, Puzzle, Fighting, Strategy, Action, etc. Also paved way for other franchises in the west using its name to become bigger later on (i.e. SaGa series, Mana series, etc). Also inspired Bravely Series which is another great series.

Super Mario
-I'm gonna include Mario Kart, 2D Mario, 2.5 Mario and 3D Mario along with spinoffs like the Mario RPG series and Sports series together. A lot of great level designs, gameplay mechanics/designs, overall character designs. Music is great too, playing these games never get old or boring - you can pick up a game from the 1980s, 1990s, 2000s and even in modern times and wont get disappointed. A lot of unique art and visual styles from traditional 2D mario, Paper Mario, Mario & Luigi, Mario Sports, Mario Kart, 3D Mario. Also focuses on different genres such as Platformer, Racing, Sports, RPG, etc. You got to have bad tastes to hate Mario :o!

Kingdom Hearts
-Fantastic characters and storylines. Mixture of Final Fantasy and Disney Lore makes this an awesome combination. Great gameplay, music and level design. Although people complain about the non-mainline series (they are still canon) I enjoyed it for the most part. Birth By Sleep for an example is arguably one of the best in the series for the direction it paved way for future titles such as 0.2 in KH2.8 and KH3D and of course the upcoming KH3.

Pokemon
-Although the story is a bit weak compared to other RPG series, the lore is amazing and what you experience if you decide to explore and talk to NPCs is as deep as any other RPG. Pokemon (the mainline series at least) keeps to the same formula and adds to it rather than changing it dramatically. The saying "Dont fix what isnt broken" fits well. Despite adding so many changes to the series, the main formula is the same when it comes to battle mechanics and exploration. This is one series I just cant get tired of - story has improved compared to previous gens and the music is just damn amazing. A lot of replay value although that might change in the future with the online MP....

Kirby
-Kirby is practically my 2nd favorite platformer franchise ever made. I love the level designs, the colorful and light hearted story and cast of characters and the music is so kick ass! I've played a few of its spinoffs but the mainline series of games and main releases is where I enjoy Kirby the most. The 3DS games play more like my favorite game in the series and I'm hoping future installments will be like it.

Kirby's Dream Land 2 (GB): 76
Kirby's Dream Land 3 (SNES): 87

Shin Megami Tensei Persona

-Persona series is a series I started in the last few years - I havent had as much experience with the series compared to Pokemon (which I started back in 1998) and Final Fantasy (which I started officially back in 2003) but the games I played enjoyed it greatly. Love the story, the characters, the gameplay, and the music is so damn good. I have the entire OST for P1, P2 IS, P3 and P4 on my itunes. I plan to play P2 EP sometime in the future and am ready to buy Persona 5 - might even be one of my only day 1 purchases this gen :)!

Persona 1 Portable (PSP): 88
Persona 2 Innocent Sin (PSP): 85
Persona 3 Portable (PSP): 95
Persona 4 (PS2): 97

Devil May Cry
-My first action hack and slash series. I love the story/lore for the DMC series, the characters are awesome (I even like the ones in DMC2 even though DMC2 is a pretty bad game :P). The music in all the games are amazing - love the OSTs for all the games. The gameplay is the best I've seen in hack and slash games (even DmC Devil May Cry is great - though DMC2 was pretty bad...). Regardless, I love the series and cant wait to see more stored for the future. Gonna get DMC4 SE on Steam/PC sometime in the future even though I finished the PS3 version years ago. One of my most favorite protagonists and antagonists are in this series.

The Legend of Zelda

-This is one of my favorite Nintendo franchises. Though I admit I havent played as much of it compared to Mario, Pokemon or Kirby but I am getting there. I have almost every game in the series already (my 3DS for an example is a Zelda machine). I bought the Special edition 3DS XL Link between worlds. I did play Link's Awakening DX to the end but never got to finish it :(. I also finished Twilight Princess but that was before I started scoring games - I will do so again when I play TP HD which I bought last black friday. Anyways for the reason why I enjoy the series, I love the story/lore, the gameplay and the exploration and puzzle solving in the series. Especially in the most recent adventures, the setting and environment is just damn gorgeous. I cant wait to play BotW.

The Legend of Zelda A Link To The Past (SNES): 91
The Legend of Zelda A Link To The Past (GBA): 92
The Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword (Wii): 96

Grand Theft Auto
-One of the greatest franchises in the world. Though the first two games were completely different from the rest of the series, the series overall has an amazing foot in the gaming industry's history. One of the first few sandbox franchises, this game brought forth attention to the genre or type of game and to this day still brings enjoyment with new installments of the franchise. The story for the series is great but the open world exploration after or in between is a great amazing experience that can last for hours. The comical jabs at real life things is also great. Music is decent for the most part but with the addition of giving you a option to play your own music its great. Gameplay is also great for the most part.

Grand Theft Auto IV (PC): 85
Grand Theft Auto IV Episodes from Liberty City (PC): 87

(I've completed Vice City and San Andreas as well but that was before I started making scores, I'll play both again in the future)

Updated my post!

Damn, Baz, you are a machine! I'm so jealous of your database.

Oh, nothing that serious! I basically want recommendations for a series of articles for the site on the best franchises in gaming.

It's really meant to show the gaps in my own resume, and to give the community's favorites a try.

In no particular order,

MGS
Ratchet & Clank
Souls games
Uncharted
Resistance
Super Mario 2D/3D
Mario Kart
Super Smash Bros
Paper Mario
Donkey Kong Country

e=mc^2

Gaming on: PS4 Pro, Switch, SNES Mini, Wii U, PC (i5-7400, GTX 1060)

I'm going to throw this one at you guys, and I know it's controversial...

Call of Duty.

WAIT!

While I think the series took a bit of a dive following the departure of West and Zampella, the stuff before that was pretty solid. The Modern Warfare trilogy was great, I thought, and titles like Call of Duty 2 and World at War were enjoyable as well. Even lesser titles like Call of Duty 3 and Big Red One had some strong content. I know there was a strong negative reaction to Infinite Warfare but I thought the campaign was spectacular, arguably the best in the series.

Thoughts?
