Party is not only composed of what you see, but those who stay behind carrying all those items for them. Not to mention before FF X-2 there wasn't any Final Fantasy game that didn't interwine, at least, male and female characters in your party throughout the story save for the original Final Fantasy. |
Yeah, pretty dark times before they realized what people really want with FFX-2.
If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.
I just got into Lost Odyssey. It's produced by Sakaguchi and has Nobuo Uematsu doing the music. Both of FF fame. I've only played for a few hours, but I really feel a kind of feeling like with the old FFs.
Octopath traveler looks like what you're looking for. Square seems willing to make really good old school jrpgs they're just not sticking the final fantasy name on them and that's how we got bravely and now octopath
Oh look, we have another "fan" defining Final Fantasy based on his own interest. Yay.
How dare you say you dont want another pretty boy character but then have Cecil as your model main character. Cecil officially started the pretty boy main in FF.

Cecil started off an emo, then turned into a prettyboy.
Square put those two together in many of the sequels.

Cecil is always a pretty boy. Pretty boy is not a personality trait its a physical trait. Overall point is correct. Final Fantasy 4 is an important one, because it begins a lot of trends used throughout the series.
Me too. FFXV was a bit better than XIII, but still miles away from high points of the saga. I wonder if those times will come eventually.
"Set in medieval" FF9, 10, 11, 12, and 14 didnt bore you with the same theme?
Before anything else, i'd rather have squenix make a cohesive story first. After playing dragon dogma and ffxv in the last few weeks, i begin to think this seems like a common problem on any japanese developer.

Considering at one point they said they were making FF9, 10 and 11 at the same time and at this point the only FF game in production we know about is a 'remake' of FF7. I'm sure we can expect FF16 in 2022. Whether or not it will meet the 'real' criteria would be in debate however.

Dragon's Dogma story is non-existant. It's like the premise of the game was pitched first and then someone thought "Crap, we need to add a story to this game." About 50% way through it goes mental and I'm not sure any kind of story would ever be coherant. Japanese story telling in game can be fine but it is lacking of late, true. I'm sure they'll work something out.
Hmm, pie.
