Dude why didn't you just ignore them? do you have OCD? LOL

Well, like I said. I thought it was fun to me, I only noticed that isn't the case when I played games again without trophies. I guess it grew somewhat to a habit for me or something. I seriously don't know, but it is what it is. ^^

that's like having to do things 3 times over and over, you formed a OCD habit. LOl just ignore them if you have grown out of them or only hunt achievements that seem like fun, Some I Completely ignore and don't care to get because it seems lame as hell but to me it's like added quests I can choose to do or not do. some just come with the storyline... Either way it's just added content.

Why are a big portion of Nintendo fans so heated about added content majority of gamer's love? This is a fact, you are the minority on this view. Everyone loves achievements.

I don't think so. On Playstation you see what percentage of players gotten a certain trophy. Mostly, they're in the single digits, except easy ones like getting x number of kills, they could be as high as 30%. Which is still low because those require no effort and you get them mostly by accident, and is not anywhere near a majority. Only those that you automatically get (and thus aren't 'achievements' at all) like when finishing the first level, score high. Tasks that require something extremely tedious could even be below 1%, and so are Platinum ones. I'd actually argue that nobody except total hard-core players, care about getting trophies.

Nintendo focuses only on useful things

REQUIESCAT IN PACE

I Hate REMASTERS

I Hate PLAYSTATION PLUS

Achievements, in the same fashion as they´re applied in the PS4 / XboxOne, to me are pointless. I recently bought my PS4 and sometimes it gets annoying when you´re playing and every single action you do a pop-up message appear over the screen, distracting you and sometimes messing the images.

I see that some people still regard it as a big thing, but personally I don´t care a bit about them. I´m not a competitive gamer and I don´t feel any need to keep comparing scores with other players. I play to enjoy the experience

What did you expect? All the high tech went into the hardware. There was simply no high tech left for the software.

It's low because many "gamers" don't even play their games for more than an hour and the majority of "gamers" don't finish their games.
So yeah achievement hunters are a minority, just like people completing the single player campaigns of their games.

I never understood the point of achievements, I mostly want the option to deactivate them completely in my games, the annoying pop-up and complete and utter lack of relevance and satisfaction makes in only one more irritating aspect of modern gaming that I'm forced to sit through.

But I know that many gamers actually care and it's not exactly mind-bending work to incorporate so I don't see why it was left out once again, especially if it can actually help them sell consoles and games to gamers.

Why are people trying to turn Nintendo into Sony or Microsoft. If you don't like what they are doing buy an XBOX or PlayStation, because they are offering everything your complaining about Nintendo not having.

Games were about scores in the past and people still enjoyed them for "the experience" so that's not a great argument.
It's very easy to implement (nowadays, 10 years after achievements came to life) and only adds to the console. If people cry over scores (seriously, all your old games are about scores), simply add an option to disable notifications/stats/achievements for your profile.
Also, achievements that require you to do something grindy which may take months or even longer, that's not a bad thing. It is what achievements are about: showing how far someone has gone/much time someone put into a game. It's rarely about skill and when achievements came big they were explained exactly like that: more like a stat you can view about other players instead of skill, real achievement or whatever.

Achievements can increase the value of certain games for some or many people. I only know the achievements which are on some games on steam, but actually don't care about them. I guess uplay has them, too? See some popups, but don't bother with it.
The only time I bothered about achievement was on Team Fortress 2, where you could unlock weapons. But currently.. it's a waste for me. If other people want them, I don't mind. But deciding to buy a console depending on wether there are achievements or not is stupid imo.
