Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Rock Band for Wii: WTF?!

I wonder if PS360 will advertise the hell out of this.. and claim they have the "full experience" ;)

Wait, that didn't happen. :P

Soriku (Feb 10/08): In 5 years the PS3/360 will be dead.

Simpler solution - don't give your money to EA, they don't deserve it.

It's funny how people called the PS3 version gimped because you can't use the GHIII Guitar with Rockband. Now along comes the Wii version which lacks even more and is actually driving someone to purchase the PS3 version. Life is full of irony!

Love the product, not the company. They love your money, not you.

This is actually looks like just a case of someone who already wants a PS3 looking for an additional reason to buy one.  Rockband doesn't seem to be a key factor here at all really.

Oof that sucks :( The online mode is meh for me, but the DLC for rock band is phenomenal. I like that you compared it to an iTunes purchase, only this one is playable by up to 4 players ^^ It's so worth it :) Some of my favorite rock band songs were downloads actually :x A game revolving around 4 people playing and getting wasted needs tons of content ^^ You'll DEFINITELY want those songs!

From 0 to KICKASS in .stupid seconds.

I own a Wii and Rock Band intrigues me. So I was hoping that they would eventually port Rock Band over to the Wii and they will be.

But now I'm reading that there will be no online and no downloadable content. WTF?! It's not like Rock Band is the most graphically intense game out there; and the Wii is online capable. SO WHY ARE THEY GIMPING IT?!

I'm seriously considering getting a PS3 now so that I don't get the gimpy version of Rock Band (PS3 MGS4 pack + MGS essential collection + Rock Band + Netflix is enough to get me to jump onto the PS3)

Cheap cash in basically. They do a cheap and nasty port of the game to a platform with the largest userbase while they bend over backwards togive the other systems with a much smaller user base the best experience possable. Which does not make good bussiness sense to me and then they will bitch how only first party games sell on Nintendo systems. Untill 3rd parties give the Wii their best effort games, they can fuck off!

Everybody should buy Ni More Heroes.

If only the uncensored version was here, I would.

My family members are still interested in Rock Band for the Wii. Mainly for having both guitar + vocals together.

I prefer the local co-op and dlc... why aren't those songs included in the game before, so those aren't problems for me. But the supposedly missing world tour mode and character creation really ticked me off. Still, going to watch this closely and see how close to a PS2 port its really gonna be.

From the other versions, can you buy the hardware (guitar, drums) from another region? It's so expensive here, that a USA purchase of all the hardware is what I'm considering, the software has to be PAL. (Supposing it's going to be out near the PAL release of the other versions...)

no, I'm not doing the stealth trolling thing. I have my Wii, and I was really hoping that Rockband for Wii would have all the features. So what am I going to do? Buy the gimpy version?

Let's call a spade a spade. If I'm going to invest like buttloads of money into a game (upwards of 170 dollars), I don't want it to be all gimped.

I think you want a PS3.  If you want one and can afford one, buy one.  ^_^

 Good choices.
