No, Zelda wont have no problem.One thing that people will need to keep in mind however, is that Zelda will be a long term sales game, simply due to being a launch game on a system that is yet to be launched, and the Wii U version probably being severely hold back, due to limited shipments and stuff.

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

Both will sell. That's for sure.

Think about it- Breath of the Wild is a RELEASE TITLE. Assuming that 50% of people will want a game to go along with their console, they'll go for the biggest title in the beginning of 2017. The Wii U will probably get an additional 1-4 million units sold as well.

Horizon Zero Dawn certainly has hype. It also has a 55m user base. Sony has advertised it a lot. I am certain it will be as loved as Uncharted 4 (unless it pulls an Ubisoft on us).

overall, both will do well. I'm sure of it.

I think Horizon probably has more to worry about than Zelda in that regard. But no, they're both first party exclusives, and there aren't a ton of people that will own both a Wii U/Switch and a PS4 at the time of launch. Largely different userbases, so overshadowing isn't a significant concern.

Nope

PC Specs: CPU: 7800X3D || GPU: Strix 4090 || RAM: 32GB DDR5 6000 || Main SSD: WD 2TB SN850

They are similar types of games in that both are open world RPGs and share some themes. I think Zelda's IP, nostalgia, and story telling will let it stand apart, but these games will be compared a lot.

Limited shipments is an interesting problem. Since Switch is cartridge based and you don't want to overproduce carts, I wonder if they will need to be conservative on Switch game shipments :-/.

no they will both be fine, Horizon has hype and a large install base, Zelda is Zelda and has no competition for sales at launch

I also imagine that people who like RPGs will be getting both anyway if they have both systems

Lmfao. No way Horizon will overshadow Zelda. I mean, I intend to get both but Man, Horizon didn't get a response anywhere near close to what Zelda got. It won many game of show awards. It's been a long time coming, people are much more excited for Zelda.

I think the reverse would be more accurate.

I think it will all work out juuuuuuuust fine.

If it does Uncharted 4's kind of sales, it would sell almost twice as much as Skyward Sword for example.
