They forgot to mention that you can lend your physical Switch games to your friends as much as you want. That knowledge would cleanly overshadow the fact they are now charging for what used to be free.

They should have pulled a Sony and not mentioned it during the presentation at all and stealthily revealed it after as well in order to not face any negatives in the presentation. /s

I'm actually sort of surprised they didn't do that since they're always some years behind the rest of the world.

Though that's something, we're still talking about incredibly old games that most people have played already and that you can also play by using an emulator on their phone/tablet/psp, etc.

I've seen a lot more criticism for what Nintendo is offering with their subscription than for the paid online itself.
