Still need to see more. VC support (will I have to buy each game again?), online subscription (price), bundles...

Man I will be ticked off if I have to buy my Virtual Console games again. I realize that TECHNICALLY you have to buy ported games more often than not when switching to a new console, but it just seems silly to buy a 25 year old game 3 times lol

I am like any true gamer would.

If it isn't turnbased it isn't worth playing   (mostly)

And shepherds we shall be,

For Thee, my Lord, for Thee. Power hath descended forth from Thy hand, That our feet may swiftly carry out Thy command. So we shall flow a river forth to Thee And teeming with souls shall it ever be. In Nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritūs Sancti. -----The Boondock Saints

I am excited for a lot of things: concerts, classic films, falling in love, weddings, thick napkins, you know, the good ones, the Switch tho? Not so much. The price alone and the unimpressive lineup kinda ruined for me. Specially the price.

Not paying $300 (about BRL 1200 in Brazil) for it

Maybe next year, I'm already satisfied with my PS4 :)

300US$ was = 540-560R$ 2-3 years ago.

Those were the days my friend

Thanks Dilma and Temer for destroying our country

Me!

Preordered and I'll be playing on day one. I'm actually on Amazon looking for peripherals already. Carrying cases, screen protectors. I'm ready. I'M READY!

Online subscriptions basically killed my hype for the console. I still want it, though, even if it's because I know it will eventually get the 8th gen pokemon games. It's going to be a pain trying to complete the pokedex then. I'm probably going to wait for a decent bundle before getting the thing, specially if the accessories are still so expensive.

I'm willing to bet there will be a decent bundle for the holiday Mario Odyssey. Probably good one prior to that as well (Mario Kart for instance), but the console really looks worth owning once the holidays role around.

I really hope online subscriptions aren't too expensive. Unfortunately for pokedex's, I imagine that pokemon bank will be a necessity for those who want everything, which I believe is also a subscription (or is it a one time purchase?)

I'll probably be right there with you as I'm rather obsessive haha, on Sun I've got every pokemon except for the two Ultra Beasts exclusive to the other game, and it's killing me lol

The Pokebank is a subscription. 10€ for a whole year. After that, you can only get pokemons back from the system, but not leave them.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

Are there tariffs or something in place in Brazil, or is that common in South America?

I remember seeing duty-free Wii U games in an airport in Ecuador that were 2 years old and still going for about $80+, blew my mind. It's a shame accessibility is more difficult for a lot of the world :

I don't know about other countries, but Argentina and Brazil have a lot of tax. The PS4 launched  for 1800-2100US$ on Brazil, over 1000-1200US$ on Argentina, if I remember well.

Argentina had problems with the government of Cristina Kirchner, and Brazil had problems with the corruption of the country's biggest company, which had over half of the congress and over half of the senate involved.

The Oil price drop + the increase in the price of the US$ WW + the corruption of the countries make it difficult to purchase consoles.

There are things to like for sure, and I don't mind a lot of the deficiencies. Even the online sub fee. But, even for free, the set-up for online voice chat/party chat/invite, ect, is a stupid, stupid, stuuuuupid, step backwards. And it's a step backwards into shit that nobody has ever attempted. On purpose. I don't step in shit on purpose. I can't use the system itself? And I get to pay for this nonsense? What the actual fuck? That's not happening. Plus I'm still bitter that the 1-2-Switch table tennis video has rendered me impotent. Still hoping it does well, but I'l be quite comfortable watching from the sidelines as opposed to getting in the game. This is a visual representation of the Switch's online setup:

The Switch is what the Wii-U should have been, and would of sold much better if it came out around that time, even at a slightly higher price.

If it can handle stuff like Skyrim, at least it has potential for no core titles to N, and I personally enjoyed AC black flag on the gamepad of Wii-U, if they can replicate that success with many more devs porting to the Switch. It could be worthy of a buy if you're not into the kiddy games, which sounds like what they are going for in this iteration.

They should of made a deal to put GTA V on that screen ;)

I imagine it has to do with it being a mobile platform, which is to say it will often require that setup for people to communicate and such. The normal approach would have worked only some of the time.
