Online subscriptions basically killed my hype for the console. I still want it, though, even if it's because I know it will eventually get the 8th gen pokemon games. It's going to be a pain trying to complete the pokedex then. I'm probably going to wait for a decent bundle before getting the thing, specially if the accessories are still so expensive.

I'm willing to bet there will be a decent bundle for the holiday Mario Odyssey. Probably good one prior to that as well (Mario Kart for instance), but the console really looks worth owning once the holidays role around.

I really hope online subscriptions aren't too expensive. Unfortunately for pokedex's, I imagine that pokemon bank will be a necessity for those who want everything, which I believe is also a subscription (or is it a one time purchase?)

I'll probably be right there with you as I'm rather obsessive haha, on Sun I've got every pokemon except for the two Ultra Beasts exclusive to the other game, and it's killing me lol

I'm really excited for it, I was considering getting it at launch but seeing as how it seems to be sold out everywhere already i'll probably have to wait a bit for it to get back into stock.

What excites me the most is thinking about what is in development for the Switch that we haven't seen yet, since we know there's so many more games they could have shown during the presentation that they decided not to such as Mario Rabbids RPG (If it actually exists that is), Pikmin 4, etc. Combined with the idea that all of Nintendo's developers can just develop for this one system, meaning everything will be on this one device? Soooo many games.

I'm rather more excited for the games.

Yeah, they said they'll keep revealing as they approach launch day so there's definitely more, and that Rabbids game is about as close to confirmed as possible lol

Yup. That alone destroyed my hype during the presentation. Of course I'll still get the Switch, but I'll be sadly skipping online-focused games like Splatoon 2 :(

I have never been excited for it. Still gonna get it though but not for myself.I sure as hell can't get an 8yr old a PS4. I could even get one for myslf the second it drops to around $199.

I don't think we are the most negative bunch here, its just easier to talk about the negatives cause they are so obvious. There isn't much wrong with the actual hardware itself. Its just everything else around it thats rubbing people the wrong way. But those are all mostly growing pains and can for the most part all be rectified from a better thinking nintendo.

I wouldn't put stock in anything the media says, by default anyone trying to be neutral will all say that its awesome. Thats what they all do for new stuff.

After all my ranting and crying like a little baby, the fact that MarioKart 8 runs full 1080p docked proves the system is good enough. But if I dont get this prepare for more whining.

Hey! They got SONY on my amiibo! Wait a minute. Two great gaming tastes that game great together!

Actually yes, despite my seeming negative posts the past few days. Won't get it at launch due to combination of price and being sold out, but will probably get it during summer or fall if availability increases. Not going to try to beat the rush, don't don't think there will be a price drop soon enough to make it worthwhile to wait for that either. Zelda, Mario, Xenoblade, Splatoon, Skyrim if it's the remastered edition, are definitely worth a year 1 purchase, and I love the featureset even if I think it should have been $250 and should have had a better launch lineup March 3.

Nice! I'm hoping for there to be a Direct or something sometime in February or before launch that goes over some new games we haven't seen yet. Hopefully with more confirmed release dates since all we know for now after the Switch launches in March is that Mario Kart is coming in April, we still don't know what's coming for the rest of April, May, etc outside of vague release timings like Arms in Spring and Splatoon in Summer.
