I know there's been a rather shocking amount of negativity floating around on these forums regarding the Switch over the last few days... in fact, when looking at the mainstream articles written on it and the youtube videos from people who have played it, I'd almost wager we're more pesimistic than just about anyone. Given I even wrote a thread questioning if this was the weakest Launch Day Lineup in history (when considering only full exclusives i.e. not Zelda, most didn't catch that haha), my hands certainly aren't clean there.

While I see many criticisms as being at least somewhat valid (if not entirely), I'm still personally excited for this console unlike any I've been in quite some time, and the almost universal praise/fondness for it from everyone who gets a hold of it (be they youtube personalities or developers) has me very encouraged. To me, this appears to be a truly unique console in ways that can actually enhance the gaming experience, as opposed to the last couple efforts on their part.

Thus, I wanted to see just how many people here, despite the disappointments that may have been announced, are still very excited for the Switch. I will keep the poll very simple, then, and provide an option for those who are just curious. It's intended for those who were initially interested, which explains the poll options.

Hopefully we can start taking a little of the venom out of these forums, take a few deep breaths, and stop predicting apocalypse lol

Online subscriptions basically killed my hype for the console. I still want it, though, even if it's because I know it will eventually get the 8th gen pokemon games. It's going to be a pain trying to complete the pokedex then. I'm probably going to wait for a decent bundle before getting the thing, specially if the accessories are still so expensive.

Im still waiting for 2 of my retailers to release their price.

Despite my critique and other complain, it still impressive hardware, and it still impressive handled and the most powerful handled gaming device on planet, but i will wait for another 1-2 years from now.

Still interested bu absolutely no way am I getting it at launch. Ill sit back for 9 months to a year to get a better feel of the environment around the system.

Despite my criticism about the prices, it would be a day one purchase if I had managed to secure a pre-order. Will get one as soon as I see one.

My excitement has gone down quite a bit after the presentation, but I'm still getting it day 1.
