Then we can expect this to look even better by holidays, and probably 1080p, not that it matters to me anyways I rather play it on the awesome Switch screen.

I actually think it looks great even in 720p, I just hope this doesn't mean its the same graphics docked or undocked (I can't see Nintendo going under 720p) and doesn't use the extra power.

If Pokemon Stars is real then along with Mario the Switch should easily have a better Holiday season then any Holiday season the Wii U ever had.

Agree, I really doubt Nintendo will go below 720p in handheld mode (sub native resolution) for any their game, and I really doubt they will not use extra power in docked mode.

Yeah, hopefully between now and launch games like Splatoon 2 and Odyssey get a boost to 900p or 1080p when docked, if only because it would be silly to let the dock boost go to waste.

No fall damage?

Mario 64 my ass.

Fall damage will come in the form of making Switch the bestselling hardware later this year.

Isn't that already winter though?

Personally I was very surprised seeing Splatoon 2 at 720p, because it looks same like Wii U Splatoon, and we already saw that MK8 is running at 1080p and Zelda BotW at 900p and both games are more demanding or at least equally demanding like Splatoon. Also Fast Racing Neo on Switch is 1080p while on Wii U was below 720p (I think actualy 540p). So seeing Splatoon 2 in docked mode at 720p was strange, to be fair Splatoon 2 is game still in development, so we could easily get higher res in docked mode at launch, maybe they still didn't used docked power and they were running just portable version. Also I dont think Mario Odyssey will stay 720p in docked mode, also expecting 900p or 1080p (maybe they show us just portable version, because it seems that devs will work first on portable version and then just lift res of dock mode).

Lol no, the resolution depended on the track, I think it was variable but not 540 at all, still the bump to 1080p is of course very big.

I hope that's the case, that they're nailing down the portable mode first and will work on the dock boost as release gets nearer. Doesn't make sense not to use the power boost in Odyssey or Splatoon when Zelda and Mario Kart use it.

Fast Racing Neo was 720p on Wii U, but it was a reconstructed 720p, where some elements in the scene were rendered at a lower res. So better than 540p, but not quite as good as full 720p.

Agree, and Fast Racing Neo also going from reconstructed 720p on Wii U to 1080p on Switch.
