If there is a successor of the 3DS to exist parallel to the Switch in the next 24 months then I don't see the point of the Switch. The hybrid made sense years ago and everything seems to align with that.

Well to be fair GBA & DS did coexist for a while. GBA & DScshipments in 2005 were pretty similar.
GBA also recieved Zelda: Minish Cap, Mario Party Advance, Pokemon Emeral, Fire Emblem: Sacred Stones, WarioWare Twisted, Yoshi Tospy Turvy, DK: King of Swing, Mario Tennis: Power Tour in that time.
When the herd loses its way, the shepard must kill the bull that leads them astray.
Not a lie. Coexisting for 2 months still makes the sentence true.

It is the exact same lie that Nintendo told you in 2004 when the nintendo ds was released. Think about it, if Nintendo is actually serious about keeping both DS and the gameboy line in the market at the same time they would be in competition with themselves and that would force developers to split their efforts making games for both platforms or force them to make a choice between an aging system. Now say good bye to the 3ds, because the Nintendo Switch is pulling a quick switch on you. Their own trailer showing off the portability factor with people on planes, rooftop parties, and for some reason playing basketball on it while at a real basketball court. All this while they're trying hard to appeal to people that it is also a home console.. pffft yeah right, don't let me get started on the on-board storage, and the price. |
Well actually the GBA was still getting big games until at least 06, a full two years after the DS released. It got stuff like final fantasy and Minoan cap in that time.
But ds did coexist with gba, just like 3ds coexist with ds. In fact, pokemon bw2 was released for nds when 3ds was already out. Coexistence is good when there's a draught of software on the newer hardware. BUT THEN I REALIZE SWITCH DOESNT HAVE BACKWARD COMPATIBILITY. Well fck this switch thing then
Depending on Switch sales they might have to let it coexist^^

Good luck selling an underpowered handheld that can run Zelda BotW only at 900p. 4k is the least they must aim.
Proud to be the first cool Nintendo fan ever
Number ONE Zelda fan in the Universe
Prediction: No Zelda HD for Wii U, quietly moved to the succesor
Predictions for Nintendo NX and Mobile
I have to ask though... what if the switch is a failure? You think Nintendo put all it's eggs in the switch bag and is throwing out 60million customer as they transition off the Wii U? So... the Switch will have in a very optimistic scenario have a 5m market at the end of the year, 3 in the summer. How are they gonna make money with that installed base?
The 3DS is their airbag. They aren't gonna get rid of it or its sucessor until/if the Switch proves itself to be a sucess.
That is why i say that your post is wishful thinking more than any sort of fact.

"Underpowered handheld"? Which handheld plaform is more powerful than this?
