Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Real Talk, Can ARMS become the The Next Big Thing for Nintendo? Both Casual and Competitive (Like SSB/Splatoon Big?)

I would think that a lot of developers are rather hoping it doesn't. The last thing they want is for yet another waggle fuelled consumer base who buy the console for this alone and don't continue supporting the console for other types of games. It would be the Wii all over again and as much as people love to quote the hardware figures, it wasn't exactly the most lucrative hardware when it came to 'traditional' third party experiences.

Ok thats just horrible. We know casuals arent going to go crazy like wii sports. Whats wrong with 1 competitive fighter being different in the esports?

If unique games sell well at the expense of "traditional" games than so be it.

Plus you can play using "traditional" controls if you choose, not just motion control with Joy-Cons.

Im putting money despite it having the ability to play traditional, if this game does becone competitive esport... Its going to be mostly played with motion controls. How fun would that be seeing the top of the top duking it out xD
