I never ended up buying splatoon myself after hearing that the local multiplayer didn't let you play the best multiplayer modes like for example turf war. But with the switch being able to connect with up to seven other switches in local multiplayer mode surely this would be the time to implement it? Especially with it being so big in japan, and with the system having the portability aspect that it does.

Think it would be a blast to play as a party game, so hopefully we'll get split screen as well. Now that the whole one gamepad per system thing isn't a problem anymore there's really no excuse not to. Even so I haven't heard or seen anything about it in the trailers. Colour me disappointed :/

either you missed it or forgot it, but in the reveal trailer we got a few months ago, they did show off Splatoon local multiplayer, at least across multiple Switch consoles. and i guarantee they will have at least 2 player co-op for single switch consoles.

What made me wonder is that it seems like people at the event got to play local split screen multiplayer in mario kart and arms, but not in splatoon 2. 

I've got to admit I forgot about it being in the trailer. So at least that's a thing. For me split screen is way more important though.

It's a nice option, though I do wonder if there are new modes, and not just new ranked modes

I havent seen a split screen 2 player local multiplayer from trailers.
If it is confirmed, and also the 2 player split screen campaing in a single switch, id buy it again.

It better halve split screen lol.

I can see 2 player split screen being implemented. A nice way for players to waste more $$$ to buy another pair of joycon or a pro controller!

You mean.. A nice way to show off that the joycons can work as 2 single controllers..

Are you trying to say that playing Splatoon with 1 Joycon is possible?...............

I bolded the interesting part, the sad part is that it looks like it will be only for Turf Wars.
