Wii U also had a 500,000 waiting list and then when it released it only sold 320,000 the first 2 months. Just saying.

Actually, Wii U sold over 3 million consoles by the beginning of 2013, which was about a month or two after its launch. After that it slowed down to an extreme crawl due to lack of software.

Hmm, that's true, Amazon also have a free cancel policy on pre-orders. Getting exact figures is difficult and launch numbers are only part of the story. Like I said; better wait for the slow months after launch fever has settled, this will be a much better indicator of how it will sell on a weekly basis.

Most consoles pull decent or good numbers during the launch window, I believe the Wii U had a 400k first week or so, despite being available only in NA.

Pent up demand from people wanting something that isn't the Wii U, first 6-8 weeks should be massive. This is why I don't understand those who think it'll sell only a few million for the entire CY. First shipment will disappear right away, the real question is what happens after the dust has settled and slow season sets in, that's the real test.

i think Mario Kart, ARMS & Splatoon releasing within a few months of launch should help with post-launch sales. I dont think it will be as bad as 3DS or Wii U which were pretty bare when it comes to post launch Nintendo games.

I really think that's why they have a few releases they could probably front load with spread out over the first few months. Seems like they have Mario Kart dropping about the second those initial sales might slow, and they continue in that manner throughout the year.

Yeah, starting off well means nothing unless there's something keeping the momentum going. Once things slow down, they can be hard to get up to speed again, as we should all know after the beginning of the Wii U's life.

Though Switch having Mario Odyssey on thé launch year could do better than WiiU and as much as GameCube

Predictions for end of 2014 HW sales:

 PS4: 17m   XB1: 10m    WiiU: 10m   Vita: 10m

Oh no probs! Lol

2m units are being shipped at launch so if true 1.2m means only 800k units are left of the first shipment.
