Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Foxconn leak rumor turn out to be true for Switch hardware.

How bad is the price over there so far? I mean the Switch.

No pre-orders yet. My gut feeling says $300 + 12% VAT, so around 16 thousand pesos, plus 10% mark-up. That's around 2000 pesos over the Wii U that I bought.

for such a small device I'd say these specs are technically impressive. I like the dual functionality concept. Hope it does well..

Care to elaborate? If I've said something illogical or unreasonable, it should be simple for you to deconstruct that :)

No.

LOL. Correct choice. Its not wise to have an argument with someone who has there finger on a ban button. OT: So, how long before someone rips the Switch apart and 3D CAT scans the SOC, so we know what is in the chip?

Hey! They got SONY on my amiibo! Wait a minute. Two great gaming tastes that game great together!

Good lord, 4310 mAh. I expected something bigger than that on a 6.2" device.

Now I know where Nintendo skimped out, the battery. The worst place to skip out on.

And screen.

A 6.2" 720P screen is low-end and cheap.

"Says the GPU is 921mhz instead of Eurogamer's 768ghz"

Is that better or worse?

Slightly better, but the biggest factor is still GPU architechture. Maxwell or Pascal. And if it's 16nm or not.

Flew over your head.
ghz > mhz.

Hope the 4G LTE thing ends up being true. Who knows. Maybe that's something the online fee enables. That would immediately justify the purchase for me.

Nope. Because Nintendo doesn't own the telecommunications networks.

You can't really fit much more onto that thing at the size it's at currently lol, the fuck are you expecting? Some Harry Potter wizardy shit? Not to mention that they didn't even tell us at what voltage it's running at, unless I missed something, so there is no accurate Wh number either, which is the actual important number.

You do realise batteries aren't all the same density? Even Lithium battery's all have varying amounts of capacity for the same size... And there are heaps of Lithium chemistry's. Like Phosphate, Manganese, Titanate and more.

You can bet your ass Nintendo could have included a higher capacity battery in the Switch.
The Switch isn't a thin device, you can take advantage of Z-Depth just as much as Height and Width of a device.

So instead of swearing and belittling the guy, think a little harder.

Yeah the Galaxy Note 7 was a big phone and just about cramed a 3500mAh battery in it, so unless you want the Switch to explode I dont know what you were expecting. I dont think they could of done any better than 4310mAh battery.

The Note 7 was also a thin device. Allot thinner than the switch. - Also allot smaller overall, due to half an inch smaller screen, thinner bezels.
There can be a larger battery.

Eurogamer's leak is not really sourced. There is nothing backing it up but their reputation, and they even state that they sat on the info for months, while we heard just before that that the final devkits were more powerful than july dev kits.

And I quote: "In April this year, we first learned that Nvidia tech was 'inside' the Nintendo NX, as it was known then. Further sources came forward across the months to corroborate the story"
http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/digitalfoundry-2016-nintendo-switch-spec-analysis

Eurogamers "leak" is actually sourced. They just didn't specifiy *all* of their sources outside of venturebeat.
This could be for a variety of reasons, one could be to protect their sources.

Don't dismiss Eurogamer so easily, they are one of the best sources of information for Technology on the internet next to the likes of Anandtech.

I am hoping this *new* leak of a 900mhz+ GPU is true though. It makes me moist in my tender loins.

I am just as bound by the rules, both in my posting and judgement of others, as everyone else. You forget i'm just one of an mod team :p We can't just ban people willy nilly.

So you felt the need to reply, but have to intention of elaborating? In that case i'm left to assume your argument is grounded in emotion rather than logical deconstructions of people's preferences.

*shrugs* Ah well. Each to their own i guess.

Is not that, is that answering what you are asking me could result in you getting offended. I didn't said "case in point" for what you think I did.

Even if i disagreed with you on every point you present (or vice versa), as long as what you're saying is presented reasonably, there's very little chance of you offending me. Even then, as long as you're not breaking a forum rule, it doesn't really matter if you offended me or not. I imagine i've offended plenty of people in the past. I can be a tad blunt sometimes

Thank you for clarifying that for me. May I make a suggestion. I'm fairly new here and have discussions with many Chartzians I'm not familiar with. Wouldn't it be nice if, say on their avi, they had a symbol for each time they have been banned. A little skull or something. That way I could steer clear of undesirables and stay out of trouble. Sorry for being off topic.

I simply assumed that was just a typo.

That was unnesesary and feels so close to a bait... Not that I mind. I like mods being sharp with their tongue. Thats why Tachi was the best.

Do you really want to engage? Because I don't.

Here's the thing: cutting the screen resolution to save costs is something I'm perfectly fine with, provided that they make up for it in other aspects. I'm fine with it, especially if it's great under sunlight like the Nokia 808 PureView screen (which was a 360p OLED display).

There's also the fact that I'm jumping from the 240p screen of the 3DS XL.
