Forums - Microsoft Discussion - People Worrying about Nintendo when they should be worrying about Microsoft [Opinion]

Microsoft has performed the weakest this generation out of the big 3. Sony with a combined sales total of PS4 consoles and PS Vitas is at 63.7 million this gen and Nintendo with a combined sales total of Wii U consoles 3DS's is at 75 million. Microsoft with only one platform to back it up if one fails has been struggling compare to Sony and Nintendo at only 25.5 million Xbox one consoles sold.

So what do you think? Is Xbox the one who is really in trouble here? Will Scorpio be able to save it and if not, what?

NOTE: Numbers used are post december since PS4 sales are the only ones we've gotten. PS4 console + Vita numbers using the lastetst figures is at 68 million. 63.7 million was used to keep it a more fair comparison as Xbox and Nintendo numbers are a month behind.

EDIT: Even if you just consider the best selling hardware of each Company with the PS4 at 49 million and 3DS at 61 million, Microsoft needs to pick its self up because at 25.5 million its going to get left behind by next generation.

Mere deflection won't improve people's perception of Nintendo

Is this a joke? OF COURSE MICROSOFT IS AT A DISADVANTAGE WHEN YOU COMBINE HANDHELDS AND HOME CONSOLES! Both the Playstation and Nintendo platforms sold better last generation as well when you combined the two!

Made a bet with LipeJJ and HylianYoshi that the XB1 will reach 30 million before Wii U reaches 15 million. Loser has to get avatar picked by winner for 6 months (or if I lose, either 6 months avatar control for both Lipe and Hylian, or my patrick avatar comes back forever).

Yes, If Microsoft don't step up their game they are going to disappear quickly in the console market, so far they have the smallest install base this gen.

Xbox One sales are considered weak yet it will most likely sell more than Switch and WiiU combined. That should tell you everything that you need to know. Nintendo is the most worrying of the big 3 right now. Xbox problem is exclusives(compared to PS4) but they still have the third party games.

Yes but even if you only count the best selling hardware the PS4 at 49 million, 3DS at 61 million, Xbox has a dying install base of 25.5 that needs pick its self up quickly or it will get left behind.

I don't know i wouldn't MIx handheld and Home Console.
Consoles for Consoles Handheds for Handhelds.
And yes Microsoft has performed badly in hardware and Software this gen which is worrying PS4 is outselling it on all departments not even moving games on PC didn't help it so i don't know.

What some of you don't seem to understand is that the point of consoles is to sell software. If you look at the charts xb1 games have been selling just fine. Not as well as ps4 games, but well enough.

I agree. The Scorpio is there last attempt to impress the CEO at MS or it will be consumed by Windows. Not because of Sony or Nintendo but because MS is about big profits not little gains. Wouldnt affect me since i game on PC however i cant wait to see the competition take advantage of there consumers once they leave the industry. Nintendo will be in the market for many years so yeah Xbox will be the first to go.

But has it? Because so far its best selling game is Black Ops 3 which is at 4.6 million whereas the Wii U's best selling game, Mario Kart 8 is at 7.5 (just from quick look at this websites charts dont no if 100% up to date or accurate)
