Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Skyrim on the Switch: Will it have mods?

Mods normally slowdown Skyrim but I guess that depends on the mods. Just replacing some graphics wouldn't but adding new gameplay functionality would.

I think Skyrim is clearly a title paid for by Nintendo so the Switch appears to have wider support. I can't imagine it selling well so I suspect this is going to be a by the numbers conversion with Bethedsa not expecting to reap much in sales once launched.

It will be pretty much the 360 version visually with minor visual upgrades with the original paid for DLC included. 720p 30fps portable maybe 900p 30fps docked.

I suspect it will be shoe-horned into a 8GB cartridge or may get the full 16GB cartridge size and be sold at £60 here in the uk. I honestly can't imagine many people buying it.

What would be great that could transform the game is a huge update in feedback, I.e. sword fighting, fireballs, a twang in your hand as you shoot an arrow. This is what I'm hoping for that will justify the game and pricing but if it doesn't provide such an enhanced experience I can't see it doing well at all.

Good question. I would expect not.

I look forward to finding out.

I mean, if it DOES end up having mods, I assume it'll be a limit capacity like the PS4 does... although I'd be surprised if it end up with any mods at all.

Would be cool playing the Switch version on the go with the Hero's Clothes and Master Sword, lol :P

imagine a Skyrim nude mod on a Nintendo device xD
Yeah if it has mod support, then it's going to be very limited, like the PS4 version. *Goes back to playing Fallout 4 with nude mod*

I say yes.

Mods are a big part of what keeps Skyrim fresh all these years, and were a major selling point of the latest console editions.

Imagine the kind of attention a Miyamoto, Aonuma, or Sakurai-created mod would get!

I predict NX launches in 2017 - not 2016

Unlikely. N

The Democratic Nintendo fan....is that a paradox? I'm fond of one of the more conservative companies in the industry, but I vote Liberally and view myself that way 90% of the time?

No. Doesn't sound like something Nintendo would allow, and then there's the issue of storage space that could be a problem.

Would the Switch even be able to run the mods at a decent fps?

A lot of mods don't do anything that would have a noticeable impact on framerate.
