Forums - Gaming Discussion - Crazy Prediction: EA will by Xbox from Microsoft

Before all the doom gloom threads, let me clarify. This is a crazy prediction based on the hypothetical scenerio that if Microsoft wants to sell Xbox division. Call me crazy but this is much more complex and can be true. Yeah. you hear me right. If and only if Microsoft wants to get rid of Xbox EA could be a potential customer. I did not find net worth of Xbox, but EA is around $10 billion range. Might be wrong. But its fun to make a prediction.

Yeah and acitivision buys sony so every year we will have exclusive games against each other like Fifa VS Pro evolution/Battlefield VS Call of Duty while Ubisoft buys Nintendo and goes bankrupt.

Fifa and Madden exclusive to one console huh?

I'm not sure that's a good idea. It would just open up the market for other developers to make sports games on the PS4 and PC. EA would lose a lot of sales.

EA would not sacrifice its massive multiplat sales by becoming a platform holder, and Microsoft wouldn't sell the XBox property if they can somehow use it on their PC bussiness.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

At least this isn't clickbait. Anyway, EA would never buy the Xbox division... so...

Made a bet with LipeJJ and HylianYoshi that the XB1 will reach 30 million before Wii U reaches 15 million. Loser has to get avatar picked by winner for 6 months (or if I lose, either 6 months avatar control for both Lipe and Hylian, or my patrick avatar comes back forever).

Why bother? They make their games exclusive, and lose hundreds of millions a year in revenue, or they still release on anything, in which case they are spending a shit ton of money on some popular but declining franchises, and a system that is only popular in a few countries.

Yeah EA has commented on consoles in the past and said they have no interest in doing so. There's too much risk factors with hardware that they won't want to deal with and they are content with being a major publisher and developer. So yeah.... I don't see this happening.

Nobody wants to own a console unless you're called Sony and Nintendo who have started when it was still easy. EA would probably deny an offer even if it was for free.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

This is worse than your Horizon vs Zelda..........

Pocky Lover Boy!

EA wants money, not troubles.
