Now Canada is VERY pricey for gaming. Your $60 is our $$80 game. Your $400 PS4 Pro is our $500 PS4 Pro..... You get the picture!

So if I were to get the Nintendo switch with canadian price and my state's horrible tax rate... it'd cost me nearly $750. Let me explain. If I were to get a new console I ALWAYS get atleast 2 games with it. For Wii U, I got NSMBU and Black Ops 2, For 3DS, I got Ocarina of TIme 3D and the Sims 3, For PS4 I got a bundle that came with 2 games GTA V and The Last of us.... So I'm going to do the same with the switch. Let's get to the high numbers

Nintendo Switch Console: $400

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe: $80

1,2 Switch: JK I AIN'T GETTING THIS SCREEN-LESS GAME RIP OFF

Splatoon 2: $80

Switch Pro Controller: $100

Add those beautiful numbers together and we get $660... We get the beautiful taxe rate and weeeee get a total of $745.8... Yeahhh. With my awful tax rate and canadian money. I'm not sure if I'll get the Switch until a bundle comes out or something.

Did you pre-order in Canada yet? If not then sigh a breath and keep your money. You're not getting one on launch date.

A Switch + 2 Games + Pro controller are all combined still a lot cheaper than an iPhone 7.

Well if I get the Uncharted bundle($380) and get 1 game ($80), and a controller ($75) and with my tax rate. It'll cost me a little over $600.... that's almost $150 cheaper... 

Its an option. The PS4 has a good library.

$499.99 PS PRO without tax = $563 tax rate most of Canada, Alberta is where you get decent lowered rate.
$549.99 PS VR (not the bundle) without Tax = $620 with Tax (The most annoying of prices and the one you would be better off getting from the States)
$379.99 PS 4 (Most of the time comes with a game) = 430 with Tax. 
Extra Controller 74.99 without Tax = $84 With Tax
New Games 79.99 without Tax = 90 with Tax 

So 

563+90+90+84=$827
or 430+84+90+90=$694

The pro controller is listed for 90, so your total is 10 bucks less.

But I'm inthe same boat as you. Gaming has gotten so expensive here, that I simply can't afford to get a switch. Will wait for a price cut.

You are buying 2 games for the Switch and only one game for the PS4. The comparison is flawed.
