I think its a couple of things:

It's January, console sales of current gen machines will be quite low at this point. Probably looking at 35k per week? (dunno but someone could find last Jan sales and figure that out).
Nintendo don't know how much stock to make, just like the Pro and other consoles before, they'll release more pre-order stock in batches, just cause its out of stock doesn't mean they won't add any more.

Lets not get all excited, personally I think it looked pretty boring, but as many have said before, lets wait for the dust to settle a little rather than jumping to predictions of success or fail.

I am happy for you Nintendo, i know it's nothing that big, or an indication for future success, but at least it's better then Wii U.

And now it's going to drop like a rock from there because of nintendo limiting the stock.

Achieves #1 on amazon, gets immediately downplayed in typical vgchartz fashion.

Ofcourse  the  next  uncharted  and gran turismo  and possibly  god of war are " small" right? 

Ps4 pro  whas no1 for weeks and weeks, got downplayed + didn't  sell that well

Those are big, yes, but Mario Kart is already bigger than any of those, Splatoon has the chance to be on a similar level to MK, Mario is the most important ip of videogames history and they tend to sell a ton (Galaxy 1 and 3DLand +10m sold each one) and when a Zelda is a big success it sells even more than Uncharted, how is that not a good line up for 9 months? thats without counting stuff like Arms or Skyrim (yes I think the idea of Skyrim on the go will attract some people) and there is a chance for another big game to fall this year, like DQXI.
