Forums - Gaming Discussion - Nintendo Siwtch HD vibration technology is awesome and the most immersive in consoles

While it's probably not as good as what's in the Switch, the Dualshock 4 has had "HD" rumble since launch. There's even a free mini game that uses it...

Apparently it's also in the pro controller. Very neat.

Source ? Yesterday I heard the opposite, it would be a shame if it didn't though, especially given the high price

I think it was from IGN. There's been so many different things said by so many different people, so I don't really remember.

I'll quote myself from another thread:

The HD vibration feature will take waifu games to the next level, Switch will be a worthy successor of the Vita. Pls be excited,

:P

Being serious, I think I'd like to try it out by myself but it's not something that has me super excited or anything and i don't think it will be a feature that will make the casuals want to buy the console. Honestly I don't understand why Nintendo gives it so much emphasis.

If this tech is nicely done, I could see it being the standard in the next consoles. I think that's about it. Just an innovation Nintendo think that works. I really can't wait the moment when the thoughts regarding to this tech change from "gimmicky" to "cool". I'm a sucker to anything new in terms of hardware and ways to improve gameplay and immersion, that's why I normally have in high regard Nintendo hardware.

I would "switch" HD Rumble for analog triggers without a doubt. How can you release a controler without analog triggers in the year 2017? It's ridicolus if you take into account that the gamecube had analog triggers 15 years ago. It's the most natural way simulate driving in games. And gamecube VC will be also harder to implement.

LOL It is not true XD, the Dualshock 4 vibration is so weak, Source please

First thing I do is turn vibration off

It will be used heavily by Nintendo through their first wave games then will be forgotten or token at best.

To be honest, I don't even notice rumbling in games. I'm so used to it that it just doesn't compute, and after playing I honestly couldn't tell you if a game I played had a rumble feature or not.

Yeah, but it feels very strange when it's missing. I remember last year using my old ps3's sixaxis when the DS3 broke, It felt so weird without the rumble haha
