Bloodborne and Destiny

Around the Network

Had to think about this for a while, but I really think it comes down to Bloodborne.

There have been lots of great games so far, but just about every other major tent pole game I've played this gen has been great with caveats. MGSV struggled with its narrative and payoff, FF15 had similar issues, Destiny was, at launch, fun but ultimately a trainwreck, The Last Guardian made me cry but also very frustrated, Uncharted 4 for whatever reason didn't leave an emotional impact like its predecessors, and I could probably rant in long paragraphs about my numerous problems with Fallout 4.

Bloodborne is really unequivocally great in every regard without any sort of compromise or shortcoming. And that's coming from someone who never had a taste for Dark Souls. It's completely immaculate.

question about the bad ending. Did you kill the warewolf of spare him? .

I spared the werewolf. I realized I lost the game because I didn't let Ciri blow up the lab, wanted to not miss a cutscene with the sorceresses, and - the only decision I really felt was wrong - was telling Ciri she didn't have to be good at everything.

I might blast through it again in the future on babymode just to get the ending I was gunning for.

Hast to be between Uncharted 4, Witcher III, Dark Souls III...damn, too many good games. Overall, I'd have to say Uncharted 4.

No remasters.

Uncharted 4
The Witcher 3
The Last Guardian
Bloodborne
Tearaway (Vita)

Last Of Us Remastered

The Witcher 3 by far.
If we count remasters then also Skyrim SE and The Last of Us Remastered.

Gotta say Skyrim is soulless compared to the Witcher 3. The characters are robotic in personality.

The only PS4 game that I felt compelled to play all the time and 100% was Second Son.

Honestly there haven't been that many interesting things this generation overall, so in turn I haven't played much yet. Of what I played, Uncharted 4 wins easily, even though I expected more from it. It was great though, but not that amazing. Anyway I do still want and need to play Bloodborne, seems kind of interesting.
