That is the USB type C I was referring to previously. It is currently used in many phones I believe. The benefit is that it's a nonpropriety charger.

Hmm... the phone ones  usually got a cable that is USB in one end and the entrance that goes on your phone in the other. That is how you connect your phone to the PC for example. I don't see the USB entrance on that one. The image is not zoomed in enough to tell what is in the end of that cable, but its safe to say that the part that connects to the power source is fused with it.

But that adaptor may connect directly to the gamepad. If it does, you can carry it around to charge it. If it doesn't you need to buy one.

USB type C first threw me off when I heard about it too. The phone part you are referring to is in fact USB type C. The USB you are used to can go into an adapter that is typically bundled with the cable.

I don't play Xenoblade so I don't know the history, but I own all of the other games mentioned on Wii U.

Sure folks bitched about 3D World not being a true 3D Mario, but did a lot of people pass on the Wii U because of that?  It was a 93 Meta Mario anyway.  If Wii U's games weren't attractive enough to old Nintendo fans i don't know that these will be that much more.

If you don't know the history, you shouldn't make statments acting like you do.

I can't be bothered looking for sales comparisons and HW sales during launch of those 2 games for this post. The short answer is yes. 3D World started with low reception when revealed and gradually got to good-great. Galaxy was always hyped. Both Galaxy  games are sitting on a 97 on metacritic.

EDIT: Actually pretty mmuch what I couldn't be bothered to say and then some

Hahaha Kirby, wanna bet on this? You really think that the Switch won't outsell the Wii U? You and Nem seem pretty confident that it's going to flop. A lot of the Ninty fan boys seem to think so.

Whelp. Maybe the Switch will be better off with the new audience it seems to be attracting. I don't know if they are coming out of the void or if a bunch of space aliens or pre-ordering the shit out of this thing, because the internet says this console sucks donkey nutz. The pre-order numbers say this thing is the next hottest skank in town.

Yeah... I'll blame Aliens. Because.... Aliens?

There's an outside world, which are not gaming forums, which is reacting pretty well to the Switch announcement. It reminds me a lot od the Wii reveal. Hell, even when DS was revealed the gaming forums were pretty negative about it.

Do you realise how weak it already is? Nintendo made the mistake of not selling it at a loss. They have much more money than they're willing to spend. Their hubris and greed led to the Wii U's failure, among other things. They're making the same mistake again.

1080p and 60fps, looks just fine to me!

What a fail, I was playing games that looked way better literally 13-15 years ago on PC and I'm not even kidding.

I'm talking about the hardware, here. For the record, I think that looks exactly like the Wii U version.

Wii U is 720p and 30 fps if you play with more than two people. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is 1080p and 60 fps even when playing with four players. That's quite a big difference already.

And that's incredible for a console that can also be played on the go.

Not really, my phone has better specs and better graphics than the Switch, and thats not even billed as a "home console".

Feel free to show these games then.

Ill just go back a decade;

If this system is truly replacing both the Wii U and the 3DS, with Nintendo consolidating their efforts on a single platform, then for example Pokemon is inevitable for this thing. That alone should get it to surpass the Wii U...I mention it because apparently there´s a reasonable amount of people on GAF who think it´ll do worse than the Wii U, which is Nintendo´s worst selling home console ever.

C´mon, worse than the Wii U?....the negatives of this system are remediable for decent market performance. The Wii U was doomed from the start, no matter the efforts Nintendo made to try and salvage it.I don´t feel the same is true with the Switch.

You said 15 years. And that's quite a generic game you got there.

It's certainly possible it will sell less than Wii U.

Such a fate can easily be avoided however, if they slash the price, give it a proper exclusive Pokemon, and do a deal with Capcom for Monster Hunter 5 exclusivity. That alone would practically guarantee sales over 50 million in my opinion.

The question is, does Nintendo have the guts and smarts to do what is necessary, or will they just ride it into the ground like they did with Wii U?

It could go either way at this point.
