Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Does Any1 Else Think LoZ BotW Will Become this Gen's SMG/TLoU? (Or the best LoZ/Nintendo GOAT?)

It has the potential due to pedigree, hype, changing of conventions (for the better), and the overall quality that internal Nintendo usually brings. I'm actually amazed that Nintendo will be bringing out two potentially generation defining games that could be the equivalent to what Mario 64 and OoT were for the N64 in the same year.

Nah.

Yes I do expect it to be goty, gotg and probably the best LoZ ever

I'm really hyped but I don't see this becoming the next OoT to be honest :p

GotG for me probably. I'm a huge Zelda fan so I can't really think of anything that could give Zelda some fight. But let's see what happens.

What's TLOU?

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.

That's quite a proclamation. The trailer was excellent and very interesting but it's still just a trailer.

The open-world game-play itself looks good but not great. It will be interesting to see if Nintendo can solve some of the traditional problems associated with open-world fantasy games. Combat looks okay.

Honestly, until we see the meat of the game, which are the dungeon-type environments and main-quest encounters, I don't see how anyone can reach an overall conclusion.

When a Nintendo game has so much care put on it is easy to predict that is gonna be amazing if only because of experience, but yeah you have a point.

Not really? I mean, the TLoU2 is a thing so, yeah. The trailer looks emotional but I don't think it will be as emotionally investing as TWD the Game or TLoU. Can it be the most celebrated game of this generation? Quite possibly, the game is looking pretty damn well as a whole.

Horizon vs Zelda.... we all know how that ends.
