Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Switch screen to feature haptic touch

http://uk.ign.com/articles/2017/01/13/nintendo-switch-touchscreen-technology-powered-by-immersion-corporation?abthid=58793025d4bd55f83500001d

Havent seen this discussed anywhere else (otherwise plz delete the threat).

It seems that not only the controllers will feature haptic feedback but also the screen.

This hasnt been shown at all in the switch presentation nor was it a feature in any of the presented games. Is Nintendo holding back something? It could be more convinient to navigate throug the switch OS having haptic feedback. However, we dont know much of switch's OS either.

Edit: It could be just haptic feedback like some sort of vibration. Not necessarily a haptic screen by itself. Not sure what the ign article really says.

A mobile device that's vibrating? Can anyone stop this innovation juggernaut?

Yeah, now its just innovation for the sake of innovation...

Another feature that's pointless to me, since the thing has to be inside the dock to play on TV...

It could have actually made a fun addition to WiiU GamePad style play together with HD rumble, as you would have been able to use the gamePad screen without having to look at it!

Do you really have to spread your dislike for the switch in every single thread here?

You should actually read every single thread before making wild claims.

Yeah, now its just innovation for the sake of innovation...

You can easily imagine games where this adds value to the gameplay. Even at navigating through the OS it is nice to have haptic feedback. Why is this considered now as a bad thing?!

My point is ... Nintendo has not shown the touch functionality screen of the Switch yet at all. Is it possible they are holding something back? Its possible that we will see major smartphone games on the console. Arent some companys listed in the support list of the switch?

People have played the Switch and posted their videos on Youtube. It has a multi-touch screen like your phone.

Can you point me to a video where the OS and multi-touch functionality is shown? Honest question. Because I havent seen any. Also havent found any report about it.
