Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Sad to not see wii sports on the switch

I found the 1,2 switch showcase rather unimpressive yesterday, but now that I've looked more into this whole HD rumble feature I'm starting to think it might be a tad bit better than I thought it looked. The whole ice cube thing threw me off, but the explanations I've seen from gamexplain and the likes makes it seem like 3D Haptics.

I always thought wii sports (resorts) was a ton of fun, and if they could replicate that, but with this HD rumble thing in adition to the motion controlls I would be all aboard. Playing tennis, and actually feeling the raquet hit the ball, feeling the weight of the bowlingball and then the weight lift as you drop the ball. A way more natural showcase than say... milking cows.

I suppose they wanted to distance themselves from the Wii brand after the U dissaster. But a Wii Sports-like game would have really worked well. I suppose there is just not that much interest for it.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

Yeah, Wii Sports would have been amazing. Nintendo is literally the only company in the world to put on ice one of the highest selling gaming brands worldwide - twice! First they did it with Super Mario Bros. and then with Wii Sports. It's like they are afraid of success or something.

Here's hope for Switch Sports at e3. I'd die for a new Wii Sports and all my friends asked if there'll be another title in the series.

That's probably it. The wii sports thingy on wii u wasn't a success either, but at the same time that was a massive downgrade from wii sports resort. It's unlikely that we'll see the same success that wii sports resort had again, but I doubt that a new, good and big wii sports game wouldn't do good. It's a fantastic party game! No need to make it the front runner of the system though. It seems like 1,2 switch has gotten that possision, and I think it looks to weak and unclear to do anything notable.

Hoping for something down the road though.

I would have loved a Switch Sports game. Arms shows that motion gaming still has a lot of potential.

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.

It's like you said, there's still appeal for the game. Nintendo has many great party games, Mario Kart, Mario and Wii Party, maybe even splatoon in the future. Sad to see them drop the wii sports brand this much.

Nintendo, give us #SwitchSportsResort now. I woulda buying this shit.

To be fair I think 1,2 switch could be quite fun with friends and alcohol. x)
