For 3 months now, the PS3 has been outselling the 360 at a steady significant rate, but how much closer is this bringing the PS3 to reaching the 360? Well, 3 months ago, the breakdown of console sales (PS3 vs. 360) went something like this:

Now, 3 months later, it looks like this:

(The PS3 is now behind by: 6 566 959)
During the last 3 months, the PS3 has jumped 673 667 units closer to catching the 360, now only behind by
6 566 959, and it’s easy to see that each week the PS3 is closing that gap faster and faster.
Something else many people have been speculating on is when exactly will the PS3>360 in regards to worldwide sales. Here’s the closest accurate estimate I’m making right now...
If we look past and major changes in the market and exclude Holidays, the very latest date that the PS3 will outsell the 360 worldwide in total sales would be the week of July 06, 2010 . Take that with a grain of salt, because Holidays, Fluctuations in the market, and many other things can affect this number, but I am 90% sure it will take no longer then 29 months. (July 06, 2010)
