Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Switch will be 329-349€ in Europe? huge fail by Nintendo

oh my god, Saturn. I remember buying a Wii Speak for 5€ during a trip to Germany, so happy thinking I'll be chatting with people in The Conduit 2. Only used once during a Monster Hunter session, to get yelled at by another player

we dont really know unless Nintendo confirms it, that was really strange to not give at least a Euro price

If we don't really know, why are you making a thread claiming it will be that exact price?

i added a question mark now, even for 330 its a huge fail. Everyone excepted 250

Depends on taxes and retailer.

The US price is always shown without taxes. That's not possible for Europe. Germany for example shows always the prices incl. taxes.

So.. 300$ without taxed and 329,99€ with taxes.

Thats the issue of the US and each indevidual state by the way. PS4 Pro was also 400€ here in Europe which included the taxes

I've seen tons of comments on FB and TW regarding price. It's too expensive, can't believe Nintendo doesn't see that.

So people who don't care about the console's mobility and want the Switch with a normal controller (Switch Pro controller) will have to pay around €400.

Tough sell, when you get a more powerful PS4 Slim or Xbox One S with much bigger game libraries for a lot less.

From a handheld perspective (people who don't care about the TV option) it is the most expensive handheld console ever (€330 - €350).

The Switch will mostly appeal to people who want to play (the same games) on TV and on the go with all the compromises compared to the "specialists" (size, weight + battery life compared to other handhelds; graphic power + storage space compared to other home consoles).

This is true. Nintendo should have left more options for people to buy. This way they are forcing them to get with the hybrid version. The Joy Con Controllers are not cheap by the way knowing the technology which is in them.

Nintendo doesn't set RRPs in europe anymore afaik. The price is up to the retailers. My pre-order at Media Markt is set to 329 € with. They guarantee I'll get it for that price or cheaper when the price gets down until launch. But it can't get more expensive, at least for me.

Official member of VGC's Nintendo family, approved by the one and only RolStoppable. I feel honored.

People expect a lot of things. And you know certain Nintendo fans can't keep their hype in check.

The fact that it was sold out an hour after it was on sale on Germany's largest online retailer makes me think the price is not too high.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

It's sad Nintendo and MS don't take Europe as seriously, why the €30 premium, why always let retailers decide the price? Why the "Tier 1 countries" BS?

Except that's what retailors are selling it for so that's the price Nintendo have already confirmed the price it's $300 which equates to £250/305, when VAT is added it becomes £280/€330, €329 is the correct price from the US price which doesn't include tax, if a store is selling it for €350 that's purely their own choice.

I ordered mine for €291 (inlcuding 7,5% coupon code) in the netherlands and im seeing a lot of 309 here for the other stores.

It's VAT, the price is £280 in UK and €329 in EU which is a straight up conversion with the tax included.
