Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Nintendo showed zero graphically-impressive games on the Switch event.

That Mario game made me preorder Switch. U looks great.

Ask stefl1504 for a sig, even if you don't need one.

Honestly, Mario Odyssey blew my mind. It looks like the best Mario we've seen to date, and not just for the visuals either. Can't comment on Zelda though, with black out and all...

Let's be honest here.

Both version of Zelda BotW looks the same. Splatoon 2 looks like original Splatoon. New Mario is really rough sometimes (New-York parts just ugly), Xenoblade 2 is a step back from XCX, Mario Kart 8 is the same. Shovelware waggle shit in terms of graphics still from wii-era.

No excuse for Nintendo to abandon Wii U two years ago. All the games should be on this console. Wii U can easily run all that stuff.

Wow.  I really don't understand what people like you want a Mario game to look like.  I honestly get the feeling that you look at a game that looks like this:

and say, "that looks terrible" without caring how great, fun, or amazing the gameplay might be.  Meanwhile, if there was a Mario game on any other console than Nintendo that looked like this:

you would say, "it looks so realistic, it's amazing!", and wouldn't care if the game played like total garbage just as long as it meets your definition of realism.  You do realize that the purpose of video games are for playing, not watching, right?

Just stop.

I'm sorry, but it's true.

It's not. Why you use some old japanese build stream captured screens of XCX? People here forgot how this game actually look:

Woah! What's that second game. I want that. That's all I've ever wanted from Mario. That and fixing the stupid Goomba's. I bet they would look glorious with tiny heads.

So MK8 deluxe, Spla2n, and MariOddysey are not 900-1080p?

Haven't heard what SPla2n is or Mario, but Kart is indeed 1080p and 60fps, even in 4 player co-op.

When did it become a case of Good graphics = Good game, Great graphics = Better game? Since when has society become so shallow that if a game doesn't challenge Uncharted 4 for the top spot in graphics, it is automatically disappointing?

As far as I am concerned the Switch is a completely different beast to the PS4/XBone. I would love to have completely different experiences on the Switch than I have on my other console, without thinking "Man I wished the switch games looked as good as Doom".

Sorry but graphics mean nothing, and the popularity of games like Minecraft proved that years ago.

Graphics is what sold the Uncharted franchise so actually it can help. If a system is three times more powerful than it's predecessor you would expect a significant upgrade in graphics. Not a small difference in resolution like Zelda has.

MK8 still has no AA

Looks just like on WiiU

the difference is 720p to 1080p. with higher resolution, alising is less noticible, and AA is less necessary.

Still it wouldn't hurt I doubt the Switch doesn't have enough power to do more than a resolution bump. It should be able to also increase picture quality a bit instead if pixel count alone.

What did you expect from a 720p handheld with battery concerns? It is technology company but they cannot perform miracles, to be honest here.
