Serious question: why do you think the Switch could sell more thantthe PS4 in the holidays?

More expensive (and the PS4 will surely get a price cut before the Scorpio release), less games, and none of the usual big holiday games (RDR2...). Why would it sell better? Because of Mario? That's not enough at all...

An absolutely epic new Mario and Zelda, Splatoon 2, Mario Kart Deluxe, Skyrim, ARMS, Fifa, Just Dance, Lego City Undercover, etc all in a very appealing console that happens to be the most powerful handheld until date, that also works like a homeconsole and has some awesome technology on those Joycons that are able to make things the others cant, on  top of that it has a brilliant marketing so far, this will be a very succesful gift for holidays, young gamers and more casual audiences will love it and holidays is when they buy in mass.

That's a good argument, but i suspect the Swtich is a little too expensive. PS4 still has a price drop up it's sleeve and as it stands is already cheaper. The PS4 though has also been on the market for much longer so likely will start to decline this year as most people that already wanted one have purchased it. I don't think it will be a run away win from either I suspect it will be a close battle.

I'm not going to compare a last gen console to a next gen console. lol

Switch will have a chance ONLY IF gamefreak release mainline pokemon game for switch. You're delusional if you think current switch lineup can compete with ps4 lineup

Worldwide PS4 will.
US  xbox may take it depending on scorpio price and ps4 bundles.

Switch is a mess imo. I´ve said it before, every dollar over $199 is a steal for that thing.

Its a mid genn system  because  Nintendo  got desperate because  wiiu absolutely  failed.

If a system  is weaker  then current genn even 3 years  after its release, its not next gen, maybe scorpio

Something is for sure, Switch will smash Ps4 the next holidays, I predict a ton of saltiness from there.

With a 200 maybe even 180 ps4  and  the next uncharted.

Best joke ever.

It's part handheld so who knows. Id said the Switch is going to beat the PS4 in Japan.

I agree on  that, switch needs exclusive  Pokemon  and monster  hunter  and its going  to be hard.

Yet ps4 has.

Kingdom hearts 3.

Final fantasy  7 remake.

Are you really using spec logic on Nintendo's console to determine if it's a next gen console or not? Nintendo left the Wii U 1 year earlier than they did with the Gamecube. So the Wii was a mid gen console? Was the 360 a mid gen console when MS decided to jump ship off Xbox after getting desperate?

Funny that PS4 is the next gen console and Switch the last gen, but it came 4 years after the PS4.

That's our Nintendo.

I'll say PS4.

As a console, the switch will fail hard. For $300 there are simply way better consoles to have if plugging it to your tv is what you want. As a handheld its left to be seen. Though for that its too expensive.

I'll say this though, if it doesn't do at least 8M this first year.... the switch is dead. It doesn't matter how well it sells for the first couple of months. The nintendo faithful will pick t up regardless and there is at least 8M of them out there today. Its how it sells after that that is important.

So, lets wait and see.
