The Dock is by far the biggest upset here, it probably costs them less then $10 to make the thing.

irstupid said: Saw an article today in my "recommended" on Google that the PS4 stand is discounted today on Amazon. It is only $16 instead of $26. Yea, okay, so lets see the Sony fans come out in droves and defend Sony selling a piece of plastic that holds the system vertical for basically $30 |
No one is claiming that Nintendo is holding a monopoly on overpriced accessories. Just because someone is shitting on Nintendo for overpriced accessories doesn't mean they're not shitting on Sony or Microsoft for their overprriced accessories, it's just that Nintendo has far more of them. Maybe you forget the amount of shit Sony took for not including an HDMI cable with the PS3.
Side note: if you really don't like the idea of paying $26 for a stand, get the offically licensed nearly identical Amazonbasics one for a still overpriced $15 instead.

Not to mention the fact that the difference between a cosmetic item and something required to connect a console to view it on a TV.
Also the Dualshock 4 which is packaged with the console is a fully functional controller, if I want another pad I can do just that, but the grip being packed in with the Switch has the charging feature omitted to sell another version of the same grip after the console is bought. Apples and oranges in terms of trying to compare what is going on here.
Why not check me out on youtube and help me on the way to 2k subs over at www.youtube.com/stormcloudlive
$90 for a power delivery system?
It's basically a power brick with some ports.

The Ninendo Switch Dock comes with an AC adapter that costs 30 plus an hdmi cable.
And like I mentioned in my controller thread, USB-C HDMI powered docks aren't cheap either.
Includes a Nintendo Switch Dock, Nintendo Switch AC adapter, and an HDMI cable. (Note that one of each of these items are included with each Nintendo Switch system.)
If you’d like to use your Nintendo Switch with multiple TVs in the house, this set provides everything you need to dock your system and play in TV mode.

You'd only need purchase a charging grip if you buy a second set of joycons. The controllers charge whenever they are connected to the console. It'll be pretty hard to consume the 20h batteries if you remember to dock them after your play session.

I like how you purposefully choose by far the most expensive option.
I can find a really expensive anything to justify a companies price point of something. The average price for a USB C hub is about $20 that'll do everything you need. And Nintendo's AC adapter being 30 is a joke. I've found many adapters that are cheaper and do far far more things.
It can't cost Nintendo more than $20 to manufacture these docks.

Crazy how the Dock and the Joy Cons make more than half the price of it.
But they stated the console's price is set to make profit even after a price cut, accessories included.
