Won't know until the next few days have passed. Probably not, but that's not a dig at the Switch. I didn't bother with the PS4 until late 2014/early 2015, still don't have an Xbone, and didn't get a Wii U until September 2015. I normally don't buy a system unless there's several games I want near at hand. So I am still waiting to see how good the first year of the Switch is actually going to be.

At the very least I will probably wait a little bit for the rush that follows even modest launches to die down.  I have no desire to hunt around or wait in line.

That's pretty much my feeling on the matter. Probably won't get it right away, but eventually. I didn't get the Wii U until late 2015 and I didn't get the PS4 (despite so many people hyping it in its initial years) until holiday of last year due to a cheaper deal. Why are we going bananas about their launch lineup when we haven't seen the whole picture of the content they're planning to release. E3 hasn't happened yet and we've just seen trailers, not enough demonstrations like what we'll see at the treehouse and other live streams. I don't know, I get there are things to be skeptic about but I personally think some are a little overboard in predicting the fate of the Switch (on both sides to be fair, though have seen more extreme negativity than vice versa). I'm not gonna be repetitive about the history of launch titles and what not so it's up to the consumer ultimately if they're willing to invest for something long-term.

Yes, even though I said I would wait. I pre-ordered one 3 days before the Switch event. Just getting the itch to get new hardware.

Like the concept but probably won't buy until I can get a good offer or when Mario Odyssey comes out which looks great. I was hoping for VR to be included and maybe a higher res screen. A few of the games shown looked awful and that ARMS boxing game looks like something that should be a free pack-in to demonstrate the controllers not a separate commercial game. Hmm this is a bit worrying actually I think we may see a big 3DS style price drop shortly and wonder if Nintendo will end up leaving hardware in the next few years.

Here in the uk the suggested retail price is £280, £80 over what many people were expecting. I was thinking it might be £210 so can be discounted to £199 but £280 seems a bit ridiculous.

I bought a tablet with a more powerful octacore cpu, 10" 1366x768 screen for £69.99.

I don't think we are talking break even here I think Nintendo are aiming for a very large profit on hardware alone. I realise they have new features in the controllers but still they won't cost that much!

I think they may have misjudged pricing very badly.

Also I think they needed VR as something new and fresh, the controllers look great but not enough in themselves.

Pricing of accessories seems very high too and software coming over the next year looks minimal.

Even later in the year I may have to think twice as really I'd only be buying it for Mario Oyssey. Xenoblade is a game I like to play but its not for me something I must buy unlike Mario.

Summary: disappointed

I already pre ordered. There are quite a few games I want. Zelda at launch, Arms, Puyo Puyo Tetris, Mario Kart, Splatoon 2, Street Fighter II, Mario Odyssey, Fire Emblem Warriors, Octopath (looks like it will be an overlooked title), Skyrim, anything Suda makes, I am Setsuna. Seriously, there were a lot of titles I want that I believe will make this year. I do not think any Dragon Quest game or Xenoblade 2 will be this year but I know I have them to look forward to in the future.

And if Fifa is any good, I will be picking that up as well... maybe even 2K18 because my girlfriend seems to enjoy basketball games lately.

I simply need to know game prices so I can start saving up now to get them when the time comes.

No, at first I wasn't really sold on the concept, after watching that lackluster presentation, seeing how overpriced it is for what it offers and that online modes will be locked behind a paywall, I decided to preorder Zelda for Wii U, wait for SMT on 3DS and start saving money to upgrade my PC.

No at least not day one and maybe it will be the first time that I don't buy a Nintendo home console why ?

Well the switch will probably have the same problèmes that the WII U

- Not powerfull enough
- Games are expensive
- No support of tiers
- Online not as good as on the Ps4/One (not sure about that)

but there's also the online. One gen with the Switch seems quite expensive.

For me it sounds like the switch still has the same problems than the the wii U and adds the problems of the Ps4/One.

Honestly for it sounds at least now like the worse nintendo home console ever.

I was kind of hoping the presentation would sell me, Zelda and Mario look amazing for sure, but 2 games wont sell me a console particularly with Zelda coming to WiiU. I bought the WiiU on a promise that more would come and it didn't for me, maybe down the line things will improve and I'll be interested again but for now there's just not enough.

Don't ruin the moment

Currently Playing: Rocket League (PC/PS4), Dead Cells (PC)

Yeah, Zeruda!

Splatoon 2, MK8, Mario and maybe Arms if it goes for like $30. The droughts are more bearable than Wii U but still it exist.

I'll probably wait for a Super-Mario-Odyssey/Switch-Bundle.

Nope like I said I'm waiting a year.
