Very disappointed in Nintendo. 299$ launch price, no hardware specs, paid online, launch lineup of 4 games (that's what I saw I think, Zelda and Skyrim, as well as that arm game and whatever), no 3rd parties we don't already know of, awful gimmicks, and so much wrong with how they showed this. I had faith in October things would go well, but I am definently not getting a switch at this point unless things change. Damn, how a one hour presentation could turn me off so badly. I'll post my full thoughts tomorrow, but wow... mediocre showing from Nintendo.

Made a bet with LipeJJ and HylianYoshi that the XB1 will reach 30 million before Wii U reaches 15 million. Loser has to get avatar picked by winner for 6 months (or if I lose, either 6 months avatar control for both Lipe and Hylian, or my patrick avatar comes back forever).

Launch window does seem kinda wonky ...

Zelda, Skyrim (?), Arms, 1/2 Switch, and ....?

Doesn't seem to be a lot of developer support at least initially.

If $300 is too much for you then just wait for the price to go down or wait for an attractive bundle.

Yeah is more to be revealed through the tree house event or what?

This is what people rightly said after the initial reveal. If there is bad news, like the price, battery life and paid online, get that out early so people can come to terms with it, and then focus harder on the games at the show. The compliment sandwich technique.

They wasted 10 mins on bad news at their conference

Paid online is the biggest shit I don't like about it.

Nintendo's two biggest games that I play each generation is MK and SSB. Both of which is extremely reliant on multiplayer...

I am really having second thoughts about buying the Switch anytime soon

PC Specs: CPU: 7800X3D || GPU: Strix 4090 || RAM: 32GB DDR5 6000 || Main SSD: WD 2TB SN850

If it's paid online for a decent service, I'm ok with that, but I'm not paying for online if its crap.

I knew as soon as the event ended there'd be a few threads like this

Presentation felt pretty outdated as well. Say what you want about Iwata but at least he made things interesting. Very lackluster overall. I went from hyped to meh at this point. Price point for the hardware assumedly being provided is too high. Motion controls should not have been given that much highlight. I mean what is this, 2006.

" Rebellion Against Tyrants Is Obedience To God"

it was pretty bad. It was mega well shot, it was fun to watch no doubt, very stylish and colorful and, well, ..... Japanese

but what is going on with the lack of telling us launch titles? is potentially the only real launch title Zelda? are you kidding me? that's a delayed Wii U title! don't get me wrong, megaaaa hyped for it but that is such a weak outting on its own.

I mean the Switch has been hyped up for quite a while now and I assumed Nintendo had been working mega hard the last year or two to launch the system with a bunch of awesome launch titles. I was waiting the whole presentation for them to literally do a list of 'SWITCH LAUNCH TITLES' or whatever. never happened.

what concerns me is the strong liklihood there aren't a number more of them. Zelda + Skyrim is just not a great launch alone.

where is Metroid? F Zero? a Pokemon home console game (omg they could just make a new Pokemon Snap 2 game and it would sell like hotcakes)? a well worked on Animal Crossing game?

I don't think the price point is a problem because it likely suggests that the Switch will be somewhat powerful spec wise. I don't mind it having a bunch of gimmicky extras (motion controls) because it will have a regular control built it or whatever (and the pro controller available at launch).

what I mind is the vague and poor game lineup. I thought for certain Nintendo would have a big shocker reveal, like that Kingdom Hearts 3 would be on the Switch or something. ugh. The announced game library is the biggest disappointment at the moment. I mean literally the executive from Sega came up and spoke for a moment and rather than saying "we're proud to announce this game is coming out for the Switch (insert game)!", he said "we are hopeful to work on putting games out for the Switch" or something or other. the presentation in a nutshell.

For the Fire Emblem Dynasty Warriors game they showed NO footage, just a sword being pulled up. are you kidding me? Xenoblade 2 was choppy as hell as far as frame rate and looks mega unfinished.

I do think this is majorly concerning, and this is coming from a huge Nintendo fan. They needed (or need) like 2 huge launch titles (Zelda +++ Mario) OR they needed like a big titles and a number of surprises (Zelda ++++ F-Zero and something else? something along those lines)

fun presentation but the lack of discussion about launch titles is insanely concerning. The concept that Zelda alone is enough to sell the console for a month or two is absurd
